REPORT OF INSPECTOR OF CATTLE AND PROVISIONS.


At the commencement of the year 18 cattle were in quaran- tine, which were tested in June. 12 were condemned and de- stroyed, the balance were released.


Certificates of health have been given to owners of cattle as follows :

Of the 20 cattle quarantined, 8 were condemned and de- stroyed, balance were released.


Special permit was received from commissioners to kill and examine 14 cattle suspected of tuberculosis, at the slaughter- house, of which 10 were condemned, the balance were found healthy. The number of cattle inspected at slaughter-house at

time of slaughter, was 200. Of this number, only 1 was con- demned and destroyed.


It will be seen that a total of 21 cattle were destroyed this year. 47 hogs were inspected and 2 were found tuberculous and were killed and buried.
