[52.] To William Manley to Erect a Timber building of 24 foot long 20 wide & 20 stud to join in Addition to the North End of his Dwelling house. the wch Additional building will but North- erls on Winter Street in Boston And for the more Safety thereof in Case of ffire he will Cover the roof thereof with Slate and will be in the room of an old building of 24 foot long and 12 wide there now standing the which he Intends to Demollish.


[53.] To David Cutler of Boston Marriner to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 21 foot long 16 wide and 19 stud and to Cover the same with a flatt roof on his Land nigh the Mill pond on the back side or rear of the house of Arthur Hale Scituate and butting on Linck Alley nigh the Malt house and Land belong- ing to Samuel Sewall Esq' in Boston in the room of an Old Dwell- ing house now there standing the which he Intends to Demolish being of the same Length and breadth, the wch New building will stand four foot Distant from the sª Hales house and 18 foot Distant from the sª Malt house.

[55.] To Benjamin Alford to Erect a Timber building for a Warehouse of 34 foot Square & 27 foot studd and to Cover the same with a flatt roof on his Wharff or Land butting on Mackerill Lane at the Easterly End of Olivers Bridge so Called in Boston in the room and stead of an Old warehouse of the same Length and breadth now there standing tlie which he Intends to Demollish.

[57.] To Samuel Burnell jun" to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 32 foot long 20 wide & 22 studd & to Cover the same with a flatt roof on his Land next unto the house & Land of Deacon Jolin Attwood at the North End of Boston, the sd building to stand butting on Middle Street on the East, and on his own Land next to Prince Street on the South, and Sixteen foot distant from the sd Deacon Attwoods house on the North which will be in the room and stead of an Old Dwelling house now there standing of 25 foot square the which he Intends to Demollish. and for the better Security in Case of ffire he will Carry up the North side thereof next to the sd Deacon Atwoods with a brick Wall and will make and Maintain Battlements. round the roof.

[58.] To Samuel and Aneas Salter to Erect a Timber build- ing for, a Dwelling house of 40 foot long 20 wide & 18 stud on their Land scituate between the Dwelling house of Capt. Timothy Clark and the house in which the Revd Mr. Thomas Bridge now Dwells, butting on Sumer Street in Boston in the room and stead of an Old house of Thirty foot long now there standing the which they Intend to Demolish, the which building will stand 90 foot Distant from any other building now there standing.

[59.] To Richard Christopher to Ereet a Timber building of 18 foot long 17 wide & 21 stud with a flat roof on his Land to join in Addition to the Easterly end of that his Dwelling house seituate & butting on the Old burying place in Boston in the room & stead of an Old Leantoo of about the same Length & breadth now standing on the same spot of ground, the which he Intends to Demollish

[62.] To Thomas Bell of Bostou Marriner to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 25 foot long 18 wide & 17 stud with a flat roof on his Land Scituate between the house of Christopher Holland dece'd & the house of James Seward to stand One end thereof butting on North Street in Boston, the which building will stand 40 foot Distant from the sd Hollands house & 12 foot distant from the sd Sewards iu the room & stead of an Old building of 20 foot long & 12 foot & a half wide now there stand- ing. the wch he will Demollish.

[63.] To John Legg to Erect a Timber building for Kitchen or Wash house of 18 foot long 14 wide & 9 stud in the yard or Garden lying on the South Side of that the Dwelling house of his ffather Samuel Legg Esq' dece'd Scituate on the npper side of Queeu street in Boston the sd Kitchen to stand 16 foot Distant from sd Dwelling house

[65.] To Jonathan Browue of Boston Mason to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 39 foot long 20 wide & 18 studd on his Land in Boston Scituate between the Land of John ffoster Esq' and the Land of John Goldthwaite over against the North End of Salem street in Boston the said building to stand One side thereof towards the sd Goldwaites Dwelling house & 25 foot Distant from the same and the other side Close to an Old stable of the sd Col ffosters which is at present there standing and One end thereof to stand fronting on Charter Street, and will stand farr Distant from any other building.

[66.] To Joshua Gee to Erect a timber building for a Ware- house of 50 foot long 20 wide & 15 studd on his Wharff being part of that which was Mr Thomas Broughtons & is part of his building yard at the Lower end of Prince Street in Boston, the sª building to stand about Que hundred foot Distant from any other house now there standing ; And also to Erect a timber build- ing for a Workhouse of 36 foot Square to stand on his sd building yard on ye upper side of the highway 50 foot dist Northerly from Elder Copps housing & about 40 foot distant from the afore- mentioned Warehouse wch he intends to Erect.

Provided he make & maintain battlemts round on ye roof of the said building.

[68.] To Isaiah Tay to Erect a timber building for a Dwell- ing house of 30 foot long 21 wide & 26 Stud with a flat roof on his Land Scituate between the house of Mr Wm Man Northerly & an Old building or Tenement of the sª Tays next unto Mr David Jeffrys Southerly, the sd building to stand with One End thereof butting Easterly on Shrimptons Lane in Boston. And for the better Security in Case of ffire he will carry up yt side thereof next unto the sd Mr Mans with a Brick Wall of 30 foot in length the which Wall shall extend three foot higher than any of the timber work of the sd building. And also he will Demollish an Old building of about 24 foot long & 16 foot wide which is now standing on the Westerly side of his sd Land, the which brick Wall 'so Erected and the sd Old building demolished he presumes will be far Safer from fire Spreading than now it is. The sª brick Wall which will join with Mr Mans Warehouse will extend about five foot at each End beyond the breadth of the sd Warehouse


[69.] To Rebecca Adams Widow to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 30 foot long 16 wide & 26 stud with a flat roof on her Land Scituate on the rear or Northerly end of the Lands of Mess's Nicholas Bow & Elisha Webb butting on Creek Lane & Marsh Lane in Boston in the room and stead of Several Old buildings of late there standing upon all that spot of ground, & were pulled down & Demolished upon the breaking out of a fire within this present year. And for the better Security in Case of ffire She will Carry up the northerly end thereof with a brick Wall the which Wall shall Extend three foot higher than any of the timber work of the sd building. And she will make & maintain battlemts round on the roof thereof. And also She will pull down & demolish her Old Stable of 18 foot wide weh is now standing within about six foot distant from the sd Mr Webbs house.


[770.] To Francis Morse of Boston Widow to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 43 foot long 25 wide & 26 Stud with a flat roof on her Land Scituate at the upper end of Han- nover Street in Boston the sd building to stand One end thereof fronting on the sd Hannover Street & One side thereof to front on the Southerly end of Sudbury street, the which building will be fifty five foot Distant from ye Dwelling house of Capt John Foy, in the room & stead of an Old house there now standing of about the same length and breadth the wch She will Demollish and for the Enlargemt of the highway She will leave out One foot in

[$1.] To Joshua Gee to Erect with Timber a Shop of 17 foot long & 10 feet wide on the lower end of his Wharff butting on the bound line of a Certain slip of Land at the North End of Boston : which sd shop is of the same Dimentions with that which he removes & pulls down from off the sd slip of Land which was Leased to him by the selectmen of sª Town, the sª Lease being now Expired.


Provided he no way Enlarge the same either in height length or breadth.


[*2.] To Ebenezer Clough to Erect a Timber building for a Kitchen of 17 foot long 14 wide & 18 Studd to join in Addition to the Northeast end of a New Tenem of his Scituate at the Northwest end of Love Street in Boston, the which Kitchen will stand 160 foot distant from any other building now standing on that side.


[3.] To John Clongh to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 23 foot long 17 wide & 21 stud with a flat roof on his Land Scituate at the South Easterly end of long Lane in Boston to stand 30 foot distant from any other building there now standing.


[4.] To John Brewer to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 44 foot long 20 wide & 27 stud wth a flat roof on his Land scitnate between the house in which Mr Anthony Blount now Dwells & the house formerly the Dwelling honse of the Widow Turrell decd on the Northerly side of Cross Street in Boston, the sd building to stand One side thereof butting on Cross Street, One end thereof joining to the sd Blonnts & the other end to the sd Torrels housing and for the better Security thereof in Case of ffire he will carry up each end of the sd building with a Brick Wall wch shall extend three foot higher than the Timber work thereof.


On Condition that he make Battlemts round the roof of the sd New building.

[{5.] To John Campbell to Erect a timber building of 22 foot long 8 wide and 14 stnd on his Land to stand Joyning in Ad- dition to the breadth of an Old building of his of 22 foot long 16 wide and 14 stnd now standing abntting on Pudding Lane in Boston in which new Additional building will be- Contained a double stack of Chimneys.


[76.] To Gyles Fifield to Erect a Timber building for a Kitchen of 26 foot long 13 wide and 14 stud on his Land to stand joining as a Leanto in Addition to the Northerly side of that his Dwelling house fronting on Fleet street in Boston, the which Leanto will stand linndreds of feet from any other building now standing on that side.

[78.] To Nathaniel Henchman to Ercet a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 43 foot long 34 wide & 25 foot stood with a flat roof ou his Land being part of that which was Mrs Dorcas Peggys pasture, the which building will stand abutting on Salem Street in Boston & sixty foot Distaut from any other build- ing there now standing.


Provided he make & maintain battlemta round ou the roof of the sª building.


[79.] To William Clough to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 36 foot long 24 wide and 18 stud on his Land being part of the pasture belonging to Samuel Sewell Esq". ahut- ting on Hull Street at the North end of Boston, the which build- ing will stand 60 foot Distant from the house of Daniel Berry which is the nearest building there now standing.


March 23ª 1709.


[80.] To Johu Stauiford to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 42 foot loug 18 wide & 26 stud with a flat roof on that his Land which he lately purchased of Mr Samuel Meears Scituate between the Dwelling house of Capt Cyprian Southack & the house belonging to Capt John Herbert, One side of the sd building to stand abutting on the Northerly end of Treamount Street in Boston. One end thereof next to the sd Capt Southacks house and four foot Distant from the same, & the other end to stand six foot dist from the sd Capt Herberts house in the room & stead of his Old house there in which the sd Mears formerly Dwelt of 38 foot long & 18 wide the which he will demolish, all Except 18 [foot] Square thereof which he intends for a Kitchen to stand joining to the baek side of the Southerly end of his said New building wch also will be 4 foot distant from the said Capt Southaek's house ; And for the better Security in Case of ffire he will Carry up that end of his said New building & that side of his Kitchen next unto the sd Capt Southaeks And also yt end next to said Capt Herberts with briek & he will make & maintain bat- tlem's round on the roof of sª building.


Provided that the sd Briek work be earryed up three foot higher than the timber work of the sd building.

[81.] To John Marion, Isaiah Tay & Thomas Hobart to Erect a Timber Dwelling house for the ministry on the Land for- merly Riehard Hollings heads in Summer street at the South End of the Town of forty Eight foot Long and Niueteeu foot wide and Three Stories high.


[82.] To Addington Davenport Esq" to Cover with Shingles the roof of a Brick house of ffourty feet Long Twenty feet Wide

and Thirty feet Stud. which is to be Built on a peice of Land at the South End of the Town butting on Newbury Street aud is to join to the housing of Mr Thrasher which sd Building will have a Dead Wall next to the said housing. - also for a Timber Shop of Nineteen feet Long, Eleven feet wide and nine feet Stud, to join to the Westerly end of the house Capt. Turffrey now Dwells in, on part of the aforesd Land.


[83.] To William Hough Tallow Chandler to Erect a Timber building for a Smith Shop of Twenty foot Long ffifteen foot wide and Seven foot and half Stud on Que side thereof and Twelve foot high on the Other Side to Stand next the Sea on the Lower End of that his Wharfe which formerly was the Wharfe of Mr Heury Kimball Deceasd. the which Shop was for the Use of Thomas Townsend who now Occupies for a smith shop a building belonging to the sª William Hough of Two Stories high Standing nigh unto - Dwellings which he will Disuse as a Smiths shop, and Improve the same for a Warehouse.


[84.] To Elizabeth Delver of Boston Widow to Erect a Tim- ber building for a Dwelling house of Twenty four foot Long Twenty foot wide. and Eighteen foot Stud, with au Addition of a Leanto for a Kitchen of Twelve foot wide to join on the Northerly side thereof on her Land butting on Cow Lane in Boston, iu stead of an Old house of hers which was formerly the Dwelling house of Mr John Harrison Deceasd standing upon the same peice of Land, the which she Intends to Demollish, the web Building will stand sixty foot Distant from any other Building there now standing.


[85.] To John Flag to Erect a Timber building of Sixteen foot in Length Eleven foot in Breadth and Twenty oue foot Stud, with a Flat roof. to stand joining to the Front end of his Dwelling house. on his Laud butting on Hanover Street, between the Land where Babbage formerly Dwelt aud the house of Johu Vickers in Boston in the roomn of a little shop of his there now standing.


[86.] To John Carey of Boston Brewer to Erect a Timber building for a Brewhouse of ffifty foot Long Eighteen foot wide and Ten foot stud on his Land, to staud joining to Northerly End of that his Dwelling house wch Stands butting on Cambridge Street in Boston. The which building will Stand fifty foot Distant from the Dwelling house of M' William Colman which is the neerest building there now standing.


[87.] To Benjamin Swaine to Erect a building for a Dwelling House of Timber of Thirty six foot Long, Twenty foot wide and Eighteen foot Stud, on his Land which he Lately purchased of Mr Joshua Gee, Scituate next the Land of Elder David Copp on the West and Fronting on Prince Street in Boston on the South, the which Building will stand fifty foot Distant from the sª Elder Copps Shop wch is the nerest building there now standing.


[88.] To Giles Dyer Esq'. to Erect a timber building for a Barn of 40 foot long 20 wide & 26 studd on his Land at the South end of Boston to stand with One end thereof abutting on Pond Street & One side thereof joining on his pasture fence on the East- erly side of the sd peice of ground where he intends to set his said Barn.

[89.] To Samuel Barrat to Ercet a Timber Building of Nine foot in breadth next the liigli way and Thirty foot in Length next the mill creek and Twenty four stud to join in addition to the breadth of that his Dwelling house Scituate at the Southerly End of the Mill Bridge in the Room of an Old building there of the same breadth and Length which lic hath or will Demolish the same, and lic will Carry up the Northerly Side of the said Building next the sª Creek with A Brick Wall.


Boston May 17th 1710.


[90.] To John Valentine of Boston Gentleman to cover with Shingle a Brick house, of about 47 feet in length and 26 deep, which is now building in Marlborough Street; also to make of Timber part of a Kitchen behind the sd house ; as also a new to set up with Timber an Old building of about Eighteen feet square which he hath removed to the lower part of his Orchard.


[91.] To Sarah Wheeler of Boston widow to Erect a Timber building for a Shop of 18 foot in Length, 9 foot wide and 8 foot Stud, to join in Addition to the front End of that her Dwelling house ; next unto the housing of Mr. Samuel Hough, over against the South Meeting House butting on Marlborough Street in Bos- ton in the room and Stead of an Old Shop of the same Length & Breadth, there now standing the which she Intends to Demolish

[92.] To Capt. Nathaniel Oliver to Erect a Timber building or Shed of 50 foot Long, 22 wide & Six feet Stud, for the Setting of his Copper, on his Land adjoining to the North East side of his Brew house at the Lower End of Water Street in Boston, the sª building will Stand One hundred foot Distant, from any Dwell- ing house on that side.


July 6th 1710.


[93.] To Elijah Kendricks to Erect a Timber building for a dwelling house, of Thirty Eight foot Long 20 foot wide & 22 feet Stud & also a building for a Shop of 20 foot long 10 feet wide & 7 foot Stud both of wch buildings to Stand on his Land abutting on Orange Street Over agt the Dwelling house of Mr Dan1 Epps at the South End of Boston the weh building will Stand Sixty foot Distant from any other building there now Standing.


[94.] To Thomas Walter of Boston to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of Fourty foot long, 18 foot wide & 22 foot Stud with a Flat roof, on his Land between the house of Mr John Barrell & the house of Thoms Wallis at the South End of Boston the sd building to Stand wth one End thereof butting on Newbury Street one side thereof next to the sª Barreils 50 foot distant from the same, the other side to Stand 8 foot Distant from thos Wallis's. On condition that he Carry up the Northerly side of the said build- ing next unto the sd Wallis's wth a Brick wall the wch wall to Extend

[95.] To Enoch Greanleaf to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house and Shops of 72 foot long 36 foot wide & 28 foot Stud, Including therein the buildings already there Standing on the same Ground. to be Covered with a Flat roof, on his Land abutting on Corn Hill over against the House of the Late Widow Stoddard in Boston, the sd building to Stand with One side thereof abutting on Cornbill and the Southerly End thereof abutting on Water Street, Containing in Length there 36 feet or more and for the Better Security in Case of Fire he will Carry up Each end of the sd buildings with Brick Walls and he will make & maintain Sufficient Plastering on all the Front Side & Battlements on the roof thereof. -


On Condition that he be Obliged to make the sd Brick Walls the first or lower Storey thereof not less in thickness than the Length of Two bricks and all the sd walls upwards of that to be in thick- ness On^ Brick and half. and that the sd Walls be carryed three foot in heighth above each part of the Timber work adjoyning thereto.


[96.] To Thomas Banister to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 20 foot long 16 Wide & 26 foot Stud on liis Land 14 foot Distant from the Easterly side of the Dwelling house of Mr William Manley, Abutting on Winter Street in Boston the which building is to Stand in the room and Stead of an Old build- ing of about the same Length and breadth there now Standing the which he Intends to Demolish.


[97.7 To Benjamin Bronsdon to Erect a Timber buildings for a Salt house of 25 foot Long 14 foot Wide and 8 foot Stud on his Wharfe, to Stand 4 foot Distant below that his Smiths Shop in the present Tenure of - - Townsend and the Easterly End thereof joyning to a Warehouse of his Standing nigh the Lower End of his Wharfe below Ship Street at the North end of Boston, the said Spot of Wharfe having been usually Incumbred with Lumber and cumbustable things.


[98.] To Richard Estice to Erect a Timber building or Shed for a Wood house and Stable of Seventy five foot in Lengthi, twelve foot Wide and six foot Stud on his Wharfe at the Lower End of Cold [Lane] next to the Mill Pond, which formerly was William Mumfords in Boston.


[99.] To Major Thomas Fitch on the behalf of Edward Shippen Esqr. to Erect a Timber building or Leantoo for a Store house of Thirty six foot in Length for 16 foot Wide and Nine foot Stud, on the Lower End of his Wharfe on the Northerly Side of Merch's Row in Boston the Southerly Side of the sd building to Stand joyning on a Dead Brick Wall - of a Warehouse belonging to Andrew Belcher Esq. the northerly end about 5 or 6 foot Dis- tant from the sd Shippens Dock and the Westerly End about One hundred and Fifty foot Distant from his Brick Warehouse in the piace and Stead of an Old Timber building there of the same
