Dementions, the which Shall be wholly Demolished and he will Cover the roof of s" building with Slate, he was fully Intended to Carry up the sides with Brick, but finding there is no Suitable foundation for the same. Provided that the sd building be Slated in three Months time from the Date hereof.

[100.] To the Honoble Colonel Francis Nicholson the Min- isters Church Wardens and Vestry of the Church of England in Boston to Erect with Timber on the Land granted them by the Town, an Addition to the sª Church they promising to ruff Cast or Plaister the sd Building to Secure it from fire.

[101.] To William Payne Merchant to Cover with Shingle the roof of a New Brick house which he is now building, of 32 foot Square, and 27 foot Stud, between the house of Mr John Campbell and the house of Enoch Greenleaf in Cornhill ; He prom- ising to make and maintain Sufficient Battlements round the sd roof.
[102.] To James Codner to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of Thirty two foot long, Twenty foot wide in the Front & 16 foot wide in the Rear & 25 foot Stud with a Flatt roof on his Land Scituate between the Stone house of the Late Mrs Lawrence dece'd, & a New building now Erecting by John Brewer, Abutting on Cross Street in Boston, the which building will Stand One End thereof fronting on sd Street One side thereof Adjoining to the sd Brewers house & the Easterly side next to the said Stone house & 25 foot Distant from the Lane, in the room & Stead of an Old building there now Standing of more than that Length, and breadth the which he Intends to Demolish. And for the better Security thereof in Case of Fire he will Carry up a Dead Brick Wall Extending from the Brick wall of Sd Brewers house as far back as the Length of his sd building So that the Westerly side of his sd building will be wholly of brick, and he will also make and maintain Battlements round on the roof of his sd building.

[105.] To James How to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 21 foot long, 17 foot wide and 22 foot Stud with a Flatt roof on his Land Scituate on the South Easterly side of Mr John Greenough's at the North Eud of Boston the sd building to Stand 14 foot Distant from the Southerly Corner of the sd Green- oughs Dwelling house, and the Southerly side thereof to Stand 40 foot Distant from your Petitioners own present Dwelling house, and 100 foot Distant from any other building now Standing on either of the other sides thereof in the room of an Old building there now Standing of 14 foot long 8 foot wide, and 14 foot Stud, the which he Intends to Demolish and he will make and maintain Battlements round on the roof of his sd building.

[108.] To Elisha Storey to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of Thirty nine foot long 18 foot wide and 17 foot Stud on his Land Abutting on Cambridge Street in Boston to Stand with one end thereof frontiug on the sd Street in the room and Stead of an Old building of about the same Length there now Standing, which formerly was the Dwelling house of Mr Jeremiah Fitch Dec'd the which he Intends to Demollish
[109.] To Matthew Butler to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 34 foot long 32 foot wide and 22 foot Stud with a Flatt roof on his Land Abutting on Love Street in Boston, the sª building to Stand with One side thereof fronting Northerly on the sd Street, and One side thereof to stand 4 foot and half distant from the Westerly side of Ebenezer Cloughs Dwelling house, and full 60 foot Distant from the nearest building now standing, on either of the other sides, and for the better Security thereof in Case of Fire he will Carry up the Easterly side thereof next unto the said Cloughs with a Dead brick Wall, On Condition That he carry up the said Brick Wall 3 foot higher than any of the timber work of the said building.

[111.] To Andrew Belcher Esq". to Erect a Timber building for a Warehouse of Forty five foot long 21 foot wide and 17 foot Stud on his Wharffe lying on the Seaboard side of his Warehouse nigh the Town Dock in Boston, The which building will Stand more than a 100 foot Distant from any other Building there now Standing, Provided that no part of the sd building Shall Stand further out (in the Cove) beyond the Circular Line formerly Agreed to by the Towne and as Delineated in the Plan.
[112.] To Oliver Noyes and Compa Undertakers of the New Wharffe at the Lower End of King Street to Erect a Range of Buildings of timber for Warehouses of about 19 feet in Breadth and 20 foot Stud with Flatt Roofs of about Four foot and half Pitch on their Propriety on the North side of the sd Range of Wharffe there to be made & finished abutting Northerly on the Cove or Dock lying before the sd Town, and the Southerly side thereof to Stand Fronting on a Wharffe of Thirty foot wide there to be made and remain unincumbred as a highway for the Inhabi- tants &c. The Length of said building to extend from the Cir- cular Line Eastward towards the Sea alwayes leaving a Convenient Space at the Outermost End thereof for Gunns. and for the better Security thereof against Fire they will make and maintain Battle- ments or Rayls round the Roofs.
[113.] To Erasmus Stevens to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 38 foot long, nineteen foot wide and 18 foot Stud with a Pitch Roof on his Land abutting Northerly on Beer Lane in Boston, one End of the sd building to Stand 23 foot Dis- tant from the house known by the name of Doct" Hughes's house Standing on the North side of the sd Lane and 70 foot Distant from any other building there now standing and also an Additional Building at the Southerly End of sd house for a Kitchen of 12 foot square which likewise will Stand full 70 foot Distant from any other building as aforesaid.
[114.] To John Pecker to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 48 foot long 30 foot wide and 17 foot Studd on his Land being part of that which was the Pasture Land of Samuel Sewall Esqr. abutting on Hull Street at the North End of Boston. The said building to Stand with the Southerly End thereof front- ing to the sd Street, and the Easterly side thereof to Stand 17 foot Distant from a Low Dwelling house of William - which is by far the nearest building there now Standing.

[116.] To John Barrat to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of Thirty Eight foot long 19 foot wide and 16 foot Stud on his Land being part of that which was Mr John Loves pasture and on the North West side thereof at the North End of Boston, the which building will Stand 90 foot Distant from a building which Mr Mathew Butler is now about to Erect for a dwelling house and as farr from any other building now standing.
[11%.] To Benjamin Gibsou to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 40 foot long, Twenty foot wide aud Twenty Seven foot Stud with a Flatt roof on his Land abutting on Han- nover Street in Boston nigh over against the house of Mr Allen, where Mr Arthur Jeffryes now Dwells, between the house of John Flagg and the house and the house where Nathaniel Elithorp Dwells the said building to stand with One End thereof Fronting to the said Street. the Northerly side thereof will stand five foot Distant from the Brick side of sd Elithorps house, and the Southerly side of said building which will Stand joyning to said Flags. he will Carry up with a Dead brick Wall which Shall Extend 3 foot in Highth above the timber work of his sd building & he will make & maintain Railes or Battlements round on the rooff thereof.
[11S.] To James Varney to Erect a Timber building for a Kitchen of 26 foot long, 14 foot wide and 18 foot Stud with a Flatt Roof to Stand with One side thereof as a Leantoo adjoyning on the North East End of his Dwelling house which Stands abut- ting on Charter Street in Boston, And Whereas the North West End of the said Kitchen will Stand within about 8 foot Distant from Mrs Wilkins house, he will Carry up the said End with a Dead Brick Wall which Shall Extend in heighth Three foot above any of the Timber work thereof.
[119.] To James Barnes to Erect a Timber building of 20 foot long, 20 foot wide & 16 foot Stud, for his better Accomoda- tion in Screwing of Hay, at the lower End of his Wharffe on the Easterly side of Mackrill Lane in Boston in the Room and Stead of a Leantoo of the same length & breadth there now standing, the which he Intends to Demollish.
[120.] To Isaac Dafforne to Erect a timber building for a Shop of 16 foot Square and 8 foot Stud on his Land fronting on Milk Street at the End of Mackrill Lane in Boston, the which building will Stand 14 foot distant from a Tenement of Mr Sam1 Marshalls and 18 foot Distant from any other Building.

[121.] To John Barrell to Enlarge a Small timber Shop row Standing, joyning to the North Corner of his Dwelling house, Abutting on Newbury Street in Boston and to make it into a Building for a Shop to stand there of 16 foot long, 14 foot wide

and 9 foot Stud with a Flatt roof, the Northerly End of the Shop will Stand about 28 foot Distant from the house of Thomas Waters which is the neerest building there now standing.
[122.] To Habijah Savage, For that Whereas in the year 1708, He Did Obtain a License to Erect with Timber a building for Shops of 80 foot long 20 foot wide and 15 foot high on the North side and 11 foot high on the South side, and to Cover the same with a Flat roof on his Wharffe Abutting on the Town's Slip nigh Scarlets Wharffe in Boston, the said building to stand 36 foot below the Northerly End of Fish Street ; Which he finds Inconvenient in a building of that Breadth to Cover the same so as to Cast the Water all One way as he first Intended ; It's Now Consented to That he Extend the said building to fourteen foot Stud on Each side thereof, and to Cover the same with a Roof of a Flatt Pitch instead of the abovesaid Heigth :
[123.] To John Tuttle of Rumney Marsh to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 40 foot long 18 foot wide and 16 foot stud on his Land over against the Dwelling house of James Ingles dece'd now belonging to M' James Grant, Scituate and abutting on Prince Street in Boston, One End of the said building to Stand Abutting on the said Street, and he will Carry up Each side thereof with Brick, The Rear or Northerly End of the said building he Intends to joyn to part of an Old timber building there standing which he will Improve there as a Kitchen, and he will Demollish the Front End of his Old house there now standing upon the same ground where the Front End of his said New build- ing will Stand.
[124.] To Thomas Powell to Erect a Timber building for a Goldsmith Shop for his Son of 15 foot long 12 foot wide and 9 foot stud with a Flatt Roof on his Land Abutting on Newbury Street in Boston One End of the said building to Stand joyning to the Northerly End of your Petitioners Dwelling house and the other End thereof to stand about Thirty foot Distant from the Dwelling house of Mr John Barrell, On Condition that he Carry up the End next to Mr Barrells house with a Brick Wall to Extend in Heighth three foot above the Timber work thereof.

[125.] To Robert Cock of Boston Fisherman, For that Whereas as he had a Timber building of his now Standing on the Backside of the house of the Widow Joles Scituate and butting on Prince Street in Boston being 17 foot long, about 11 foot wide and about 14 foot Studd, which was formerly Improved as a Cow house and stands neerest to other buildings then it will at the place whereto he would carry it. It's Now Consented to That he remove and Carry the said building from the place where it now stands, and place it upon his Land Abutting on the aforesaid Street between the Land of John Goffe, and the Land of Samnel Hood and to Improve the same for a small Dwelling house which will then stand 13 foot Distant from the sd Hoods Dwelling house which is by farr the neerest building there now standing.

[126.] To Col. Thomas Savage, Whereas he has an Old Dwelling house of 27 foot long, 24 wide Now standing abutting on Salt Lane in Boston abont Two foot and half Distant below Mr Mannings Salt honse which building he Intends to remove abont 14 foot down towards Scottows Dock aud so further from the sª Salt house and he being Desirous to Erect an Additional building of the same Length with his sd house and Adjoyning thereto of abont 14 foot breadth and 32 foot Studd with a Flatt Rooff to stand next the sd Salt house on the same gronnd from whence he Intends to remove his sª Old house. It's Consented to That he Erect the said building with Timber. Provided that in removing the said Old building he no ways Streighten or lessen the highway or ways next thereunto Adjoyning and also that he Carry up that side of his said building next the said Salt house with a Dead Brick Wall Extending three foot above the Timber work.
June 14, 1711.
[12.] To Joseph Peason to Erect a Timber building for a Dwelling honse of 25 foot long 18 wide & 23 foot Stud with a Flat roof on his Land Scituate between the Lands of John Bennit and the house of Zacheriah Trescott One End of said building to stand Abntting on Orange Street in Boston, the Southerly side thereof to stand Twenty two foot Distant from the said Triscots house and the Northerly side of the same will be more than 100 foot Distant from any other building now standing on that side.
[128.] To John Lothrop to Erect a Timber building for part of a Dwelling honse of 20 foot in Breadth Southwesterly next the highway and 12 foot in Depth to joyn in Addition to his other buildings there standing on the North East towards the Sea and 16 foot Stnd on his Land Abutting on Mackrill Lane nigh the house which formerly was the Castle Tavern in Boston in the room and stead of an Old building of the same Length and breadth there now standing the which he Intends to Demollish and also hic will Demollish another Old building Adjoyning next to Crab Lane of about the same Dimentions which formerly hath been Improved as a Joyners Shop. The Land there being Marsh of a great Depth where a Foundation for building with Brick cannot be made with- out an Excessive Charge.

[129.] To Edward Hutchinson to Erect a timber building for a Smiths shop of 22 foot long, 18 foot wide and 9 foot Studd on his wharffe below the Shops belonging to Elisha Hutchinson Esq" in Fish Street in Boston to stand 25 foot Distant from the sª shops and 11 foot Distant from Mr Jabes Salters Smith Shop which are the neerest buildings there now standing.
September 6th 1711.
[130.] To Capt. Nathaniel Oliver to Erect a Timber building for a Stable of 16 foot long 9 foot wide and 12 foot Stnd on his

Land being a Pasture which he hires of Mr John Leverett scituate nigh Leveretts Lane in Boston, the which building will stand sixty foot Distant from any other building there now Standing.
[131.] To John Beauchamp to Erect a Timber building of 18 foot long fifteen foot wide and Ten foot Stud on his Land on the backside of his Dwelling house in Newbury Street in Boston the which building will stand 150 foot Distant & from any other build- ing there now standing.

[132.] To Thomas Palmer Esqr. to Erect a Timber building for a Washhouse of 20 foot long Fifteen foot wide and 8 foot stud to Stand Joyning to his new Brick house Seituate in that Pasture belonging to Eliakim Hutchinson Esqr. nigh the Fort Hill in Boston, Also One other building for a Woodhouse to Joyn to the sª Wash- house of 35 foot long 9 wide & 7 foot stud And also One other Building for a Stable of 25 foot long 15 wide and 15 Stud to stand about 10 feet Distant from the said Woodhouse, All of which buildings will stand far Distant from any other buildings there now standing. And also to Cover his new Brick house with shingle.

[133.] To Mary Edwards to Erect a timber building for a warehouse of 24 foot long 16 wide and 16 Stud with a Flat roof on the Lower part of her Wharffe lying before her house in Fish street in Boston, the said building to stand in the room and Stead of an Old timber Warehouse there now standing of the same Length breadth and heigth, the which she will Demolish.
July 15th. 1712.
[134.] To Edward Gray of Boston Ropemaker to Ereet a Timber building of Forty foot long 20 foot wide and 8 foot studd to stand abutting the Southerly end thereof on Cow Lane; Also a Range of Sheds of Ten feet wide and seven feet studd and Four hundred feet in Length North Westerly and One End adjoyning to the former on a peice of Land which he lately purchased for a Rope- walk being the Rear or North Easterly side of that Land formerly known by the name of Atkinsons pasture nigh Long lane in Boston.
Provided That the said buildings be continued to stand for no longer time than the same be Improved as a Ropewalk.
October 29. 1712.
[135.] To William Skinner to Erect a Timber building for a Stable and Cow house of Twenty two foot long, eighteen feet wide, and Sixteen foot Studd to stand on his Land Fifty feet distant from the Easterly End of his Dwelling house, Seituate & abutting on the Easterly side of Orange Street in Boston, and farther distant from any other building there now standing.

[136.] To John Clark Esq to Remove three shops now standing in the Front of his Land on fish street unto the Front of his Land in Middle street where they will be less obnoxious to thire ; in the room whereof he will Erect a Brick house which will be a better preservative to the neighbourhood in Case of Fire.
March 12th 1712.
[13%.] To Sundry Inhabitants of the North End of Boston to Erect with Timber a Meeting house for the Public Worship of God of Sixty-five feet long forty eight feet wide and thirty feet Stud with a Flat roof and Battlements round the same on a peice of Land Commonly known by the Name of Major Richards's past- ure, Abutting Westerly on North Street, and Southerly on New Street, the said building to stand Fifty foot from any Dwelling house there now standing.
[138.] To Isaiah Tay to Erect with Timber a building for a Dwelling house of 40 foot long 38 foot wide and 24 foot Stud on his Land Scituate on the Sontherly side of the Starr Tavern in Boston. the said building to stand with One side thereof abutting on Hannover Street, and is to be in the room of the Dwelling house of the late Thomas Harwood dece'd of about the same Length and breadth and the better to prevent the spreading of Fire he will Carry up both Ends thereof with a dead brick Wall, to be Three foot higher than any part of t. e Timber work and will also plaister the Front of the said building.
April 10th, 1713.
[139.] To Samuel Wentworth to remove his house next the Sea in which Mr Ralph Carter dec'd formerly dwelt Forty foot lower down upon his Wharffe and to remove his house where Mrs Hall now dwells lower down on the sd Wharffe, and also to remove the Row of Shops now standing on the upper side and Mr Gerrish's Shop on the lower side of the Street to such place or places on the said Wharffe as the Select men shall advise & direct, the sd Went- worth having lately purchased the housing and Lands of Capt Thomas Lake dece'd Scituate in Anne Street, and Intending to make the said Street there more Commodious by adding to the breadth thereof Twelve or fourteen feet as the Select Men shall advise, and to Erect Brick buildings on the full Front of his sd Land on Each side of the highway.
[140.] To William Tilley to remove his Timber buildings lately Erected on a piece of Land belonging to Eliakim Hutchin- son Esq' which he improved for a Ropewalk to a piece of Land next adjoining which he lately purchased of the heirs of Mr At- kinson he Continuing the same for the aforesaid use only : & also to Erect with Timber a building for a Warehouse of 30 foot long 25 feet wide & 15 feet studd on his Wharffe standing on the sea- board side before the Land formerly Gov" Searle's being farr dis- tant from any other building there now standing.

[141.] To James Penniman, For that Whercas he is about to Repair a Dwelling house of his, boing a Corner house fronting towards Summer Street and Marlborough Street in Boston, and being Desirous to Erect in Addition thereto upon a Vacant strip of Land of his (next to Summer Street) A New side to his sd building of Twenty two foot long and Twenty six foot stud, which will En- large liis sd house Eighteen Inches wide in the Front next to Marl- borough Street and five foot wider in the Rear, and he will Cover the whole house with a Flatt Roof and make battlemts round the same, the which New side will stand more than Fifty foot distant from Mr Joseph Allens Shop, which is the nearest building on that side.
August the 13th 1713.
[142.] To Capt. Nathanael Oliver to Erect with Timber a building for a Kitchen of 22 foot long 14 foot wide and 15 foot Stud to stand in his yard with One End thereof Adjoyning to the middle part of the Southerly side of his Brick Warehouse at the lower End of Water Street in Boston, Provided the Two Ends thereof be of Brick and that he plaister or Rough Cast the Two sides which are of Timber and Cover the Roof thereof with slate.

[143.] To Henry Hill to Erect with Timber a New building for a Barn or Store house of 32 foot long 18 foot wide and 14 foot stud to Stand on his Wharffe next the Sea about 100 foot below his Still house which is the nearest building there now standing.
October the 8th 1713.
[144.] To Thomas Banister to Erect a Timber building for a Barn or Storehouse of Thirty foot long 20 wide and 18 Stud with a flatt roof ou his Land Scituate at the lower end of the Common or Training feild in Boston, the said building to stand Abutting the So. Easterly side thereof on the said Common and the South Westerly end thereof on the beach next the Sea, and more than One thousand foot distant from any other building now standing.
October 9th 1713.
[145.] To Samuel Rand, That Whereas he is now Erecting a building for a Dwelling house of briek abutting on King Street over against the Town house in Boston and his Land being narrow So as that the Rear End of his said building withiu the side Walls of brick will not be full Twelve foot and half in breadth on the lower story and Sixteen foot wide from thence upwards so that he can- not possibly carry up the same with Brick so as to have room for Lights and Doors. It's now Consented to That he carry up the sª End with Timber provided he Sufficiently Cover all the Timber work . of that End (Excepting the doors aud Windows) with Slate Stone.
