January the 5th 1713.
[146.] To Robert Cojo, to remove a Timber building being a Barn or Workhouse of 20 foot long 16 wide and 12 foot Stud now standing nigh the Dwelling house where Deacon Sanders formerly dwelt at the South end of Boston and to place ye same in a pasture which he hath hired of Jeremiah Dummer Esq" Scituate on the Southerly side of Long lane in Boston aforesaid and there to Improve the same to dwell in which will stand about 12 foot distant from the sd Dummers Coach house and farr remote from any other building there now standing.
March the 11th 1713.
[147.] To Daniel Allen of Boston Inholder to Erect a Timber building for a Barn of 40 foot long 25 foot wide & 14 foot Stud on a peice of Land which' he hires of Andrew Belcher Esq' on the Southerly side of Pond Street in Boston. The which building will stand Sixty three foot distant from any or the nearest building now there standing. Provided it be not Improved hereafter to any other use than that of a Barn or stable.

[148.] To Capt. Thomas Huthinson to Erect a Timber building for a dwelling house of 40 foot long 16 wide & 22 Studd where an Old Brewhouse now stands on the Northerly side of that his Wharffe belonging to & lying on the Easterly side of the Dwelling house in which Mr John Vial lately dwelt being on the Easterly side of Ship Street in Boston and also an Addition of other buildings for Shops or Storehouses to stand Joyning thereto in the same Range of 60 feet in length 16 foot wide & 12 studd and he will Demolish the sd Old Brew house & the other buildings in that range belonging thereto of about the same breadth with that which he Intends to build new, and also he will Demolish his other row of old buildings now standing on the South side of that his Wharffe which was Mr Vials and he will leave that space Vacant & unbuilt.
Provided the whole building be not above 16 foot stud & that the same be 20 foot distant from the above-mentioned Dwelling house.
[sic.] [147.] To George Terrant to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 34 foot long 18 wide & 18 studd on his Land on the Westerly side of the highway leading to Roxbury being part of the new Settlemts nigh the line of Defence at the South end of Boston. The which building will stand 400 foot distant from any building now there standing provided he carry up one end thereof with a brick Wall.

Northerly on Pond Street at the South end of Boston & for the better preventing the spreading of flire he will Plaister or Rough Cast that side of the sd building which will stand abutting on Newbury Street Carry up Each end thereof with a dead Brick Wall Cover the roof wth state, the which building will stand about 30 foot distant from any building now standing at Either cnd thereof & more than One hundred foot Distant from any building on ye Rear or Easterly side in the room & stead of an Old dwelling house on ye same ground now there standing the which he intends to Demolish.
[149.] To John Colman to Erect a Timber building for a Kitchen of 20 foot square to Joyn in Addition to the Northerly end of that his dwelling house or Tenement commonly called or known by the Name of the Bowling Green nigh unto Cambridge Street in Boston the which building will stand 40 foot distant from any other building there now standing on that side & is in the same place & stead of an Old Kitchen of 20 foot long & 18 wide there now standing the which he intends to demolish.
[150.] To Samuel Wentworth, That Whereas he having for- merly by his petition dated the 6th of April 1713. Set forth his In- tentions to make the highway in Anne Street more Commodious by adding to the breadth thereof Twelve or ffourteen foot out of his own Land so as the Select men shall advise and to Erect brick buildings on the full front of his Land on each side of the said high- way, and Whereas there was then standing on his Land four dis- tinct timber buildings, which he theu asked the liberty of removing & placing the same down on his Wharffe Vizt that his house in which Mr Ralph Carter formerly dwelt to stand 40 foot lower down ou his wharffe that his house in which Mrs Hall lately dwelt to stand yet further down on his wharffe than the former & to remove that his row of Shops then standing on the upper side and Mr Gerrishs Shop on the lower side of the way to stand on such place or places of his Wharffe which was then Erecting as the Select men of the sd Town should advise And Direct, the which Petition was approved & License granted him so to remove & place the sd build- ing. Since which he hath considered of another way of building on his sd Wharffe more for the benefit & safety of his Estate there (& as he Conceives) of Greater security to prevent the spreading of ffire, than what he formerly proposed. It's Now Consented to that Lycence be granted him to Erect a Timber building for a Dwell- ing house of 40 foot long 22 wide & 27 studd to stand on is afores'd Wharffe 70 foot distant below the highway & he will Carry up each end of the sd building next the North West & South East with a dead brick Wall which shall Extend three foot higher than the Timber work thereof & as a further argument to obtain the grant of his Petition he hath already demolished that his house in which Mr Hall dwelt & intends to Demolish One half of that house in which Mr Carter dwelt both which were before intended to stand in the room of this which he now Petitions for in hopes of a Grant.

the first Church of Christ in Boston to Erect a Timber building of 16 foot long 12 wide and 16 Stud to Joyn in Addition to the North Westerly Coruer of that the Dwelling house where the Reverend Mr Benja Wadsworth now dwells in the room and stead of an Old building of 12 foot Square now there stauding the which they intend to Demolish, the which Additional building will stand remote from any other building now standing.
July 13th 1714.
[152.] To John Baker of Boston Blacksmith to Erect a Timber building for a Storehouse of 40 foot long 14 wide and 12 Stud on his Wharffe uext the Sea Scituate on the Easterly end of his Father Deacon Bakers Shop & Wharffe on the Easterly side of Ship Street in Boston, the which building will staud 30 foot dis- taut from the Easterly end of his Colehouse now Standing there and One Corner at the lower or Easterly end thereof will stand about Eight foot distant from Robert Fethergills Slaughter house aud at a farr Greater Distance from any other building now standing ; the sª Wharffe where the said building is intended to be sett being wholly unfit, there being no foundatiou to sett a Brick building on.

[153.] To Eleazer Dorby to Erect a Timber building for a Stable 22 feet in length and 18 wide to Entertain his hay and horses, upon his pasture Land Scituate & abutting on Sea Street in Boston, which building will stand at 40 feet distance from auy other building there now standing.
Provided it be not hereafter Improved to any other use than that of a Barn or stable.

[154.] To John Briggs of Boston to Erect a timber building at the Westermost Eud or Rear of his Dwelling house at the South End of Boston fronting to Newbury Street of 18 feet wide & 20 long in the room of an Old Decaved building there now standing which he will Demolish & intends to carry up a Brick Wall on the North side and at the end adjoyning to his Dwelling house the other part to be of Timber.

[155.] To Thomas Jones and Christopher Monk to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 40 feet long 30 wide and Eighteen Stud on a peice of Land which they lately bought of Mr Joshua Gee Scituate on the Northerly side of Prince Street between the Dwelling house of the late Benja Swaens and the house which formerly was Daniel Travis's next to Snowhill at the North end of Boston the which building will stand 53 foot distant from the nearest building there now standing & for the better security in Case of ffire they will carry up the North West End thereof next to Benja Swaens with a dead Brick Wall which shall Extend Two foot and half higher than the Timber work thereof & Plaster or Rough Cast the sd Easterly end next to the said Travis's

& they will also place Battlements on the Roof. Provided the Petitioners carry np both Ends of the abovementioned building with a dead Brick Wall to extend two foot & half above the Timber work thereof.
[156.] To Stephen Honiwell of Boston Boatman to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 32 foot long 20 wide & 15 stud on his Land being part of that which was formerly known by the name of Atkinsons pasture at the South end of Boston, the which building will stand abutting on a New Street which is In- tended to be laid out there & One hundred & Eighty foot distant from any other building there now standing & more than 100 foot distant from the Land of Theodore Atkinson Esqr.
[157.] To Benjamin Johns to Erect a Timber building for a Barn or Stable for the Common Entertainment of horses of 24 foot wide 42 long and 15 stud on His Land Seituate & Abutting on or nigh Summer Street in Boston the which building will stand 100 foot distant from his own Dwelling house there and at a farr greater distance from any other building there now standing.
Provided the aforesd building be Improved hereafter to no other use than that of a Barn or Stable.

[158.] To Benjamin Andrews of Boston Marriner to Ereet a. Timber building for a Dwelling house of 40 foot long 20 wide & 26 studd on his Land being part of that Commonly known by the name of Atkinsons pasture at the Southerly part of Boston the which building is to stand One End thereof abutting on a New highway there laid out & ealled Atkinsons Street between the Land of Capt. Nath1. Green on the North and the Land of Edward Grey on the South One side of sd building to stand abutting on sª Capt Greens Land, the which side he will Carry up with a dead briek Wall Extending Three foot higher than the timber work of sd build- ing and the Rear or Easterly end thereof will stand 80 foot distant. from Mr Greys Ropeshed which is the nearest building there now standing.
[159.] To William Tilley of Boston Ropemaker to Ereet a Timber building for a Dwelling house of 48 foot long 22 wide and 27 studd together with an Additional building for a Kitchen of 15 foot square to Joyn on the Easterly end thereof, On his Land being part of that which formerly was Gov' Searle's pasture abutting on Cow Lane in Boston the which building will stand with the North Westerly end thereof next to Cow Lane and at that End 53 foot distant from his own work house and the Northerly Corner will stand 45 foot distant from an Old house in which Widow Puncheon lately dwelt which are the nearest buildings there and at a farr Greater Distance from any other building now standing, And for the better security in Case of Fire he will carry up Each End of the sd building wth a Dead brick Wall Extending three foot higher than the Timber work thereof & he will plaister or Rough Cast the South Westerly side of the sd building.

[160.] To Thomas Selby of Boston Perriwigg maker to Erect a Shop or building of Timber at the Eastermost end of Mr Butlers Row of Brick buildings fronting to King street in Boston upon a peice of the said Butlers Wharffe and Flatts to be twenty feet wide Thirty feet long and Twenty feet Stud ; Provided he carry up a Brick Wall at the Easterly end and rough Cast the other end. and sides thereof. and Cover the roof with Slate, and make and maintain Battlements on the same.

[161.] To David Colson of Boston Leather Dresser (in order to the carrying on his Trade) to Erect a timber building for a Work- house of 40 feet long 20 wide & 23 Stud with a Flatt on the Top of the Roof on his Land Scituate on the Northerly side of Frogg Lane at the South end of Boston in the room and stead of an old Barn there now Standing, the which Barn he intends to remove unto the Rear of his sd Land there to stand 50 foot distant from any other building there now Standing, the which new building which he now desires to Erect will stand with the South side thereof fronting to and abutting on the aforesd Lane and the North side thereof will stand 30 foot distant from the sª Colsons own Dwelling house which is the nearest building there and 40 feet distant from any other building there standing and he will make and maintain Battlements on the Top of the same for the better security in Case of ffire.
[162.] To John Greenough of Boston Shipwright to Erect a timber building for a Smiths Shop of 40 foot long 18 wide & 12 high on the one side & S Studd on the other side on a hollow Wharffe of his lying below a Certain Tenement or Dwelling house of his Scituate at the lower End of North Street in Boston, the which Shop or building is to stand 30 foot distant from his aforesd Tenement which is the nearest building there now standing.
The sª Shop is to be Improved by Solomon Townsend Black- smith instead of his former Smith shop which he hired of Mr Bronsdon, the which shop is now intended for other uses.
June 9th 1715.
[163.] To Joseph Malam to Erect an addition (with timber) to the Southerly end of his dwelling house on his Land abutting on School Street in Boston of 22 feet in length (that being the breadth of his house) about 6 feet in breadth & 24 feet stud. On Condition that the same do not Jett over the sd street.
July 14th 1715.
[164.] To Benjamin Bronsdon to Erect a Timber building for a warehouse of Forty foot long Sixteen foot wide & Sixteen foot Studd on the Easterly or lower End of that his Wharfe Scituate at the lower side of Ship Street in Boston, the wch building will Stand forty foot distant from any other building there now Stand- ing. In Consideration 'of his Erecting the sd Building, and the

[165.] To Benjamin Gallop to Erect a Timber building for a Smith's Shop of Twenty foot long, fourtcen foot Wide and Seven foot Stud on the Lower End of his New Wharfe next the Sea, lying before his Dwelling Situate next to ffisli Street in Boston, the which Building will Stand forty foot distant from Mr John Olivers Cooper's Shop, & about the same distance from Mr Kenny's Slaughter house, which are the nearest buildings there Standing And in Consideration thereof he will remove his present Smith's Shop now in the Tenure of Eben" Bridge abutting on the high Way to Stand Sixty foot further downward upon his Wharfe to be improved there, to Some other Use,
Provided it be not improved to any other Use, nor Exceed the Dimensions above written.

[166.] To Samuel Cunabell of Boston Housewright to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 35 foot Square and 18 foot Stud on his Land Scituate at the lower end of Sudbury Street in Boston, aud next adjoining to the Mill pond being part of the Land formerly belonging to the Widow of John Moore dece'd, the which building will stand 120 Foot distant from the lower end of Sud- bury Street and 100 foot distant from any building there now standing.
[167.] To Daniel Bell of Boston Mason to Erect a timber build- ing for a Dwelling house of 50 foot long, 21 wide and 18 stud on his Land next the Mill pond in Boston being part of the Land formerly belonging to the Widow of John Moore dece'd the which building will stand more than ninety Foot distant Westerly from the house now intended to be Freeted by Samuel Cunabell and at a Greater distance from any building there now standing aud he will set his said house to stand on the Southierly side of a passage way agreed upon to lye open through that parcel of Land.
[168.] To John Baley of Boston Housewright to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 40 foot long 20 wide & 18 stud on his Land next the Mill pond in Boston being part of tlie Land formerly belonging to the Widow of John Moore dece'd between the Lands of Samuel Cunabell and Daniel Bell the which building will stand 30 foot distant From the house now intended to be built by Daniel Bell and 58 foot distant from the house now intended to be there built by the said Samuel Cunabel.

of his there now standing the Northerly side thereof to stand 30 feet distant from a Warehouse of Mr Stoddards which is the near- est building there & at a farr greater distance from any other build- ing now standing. And for the better security thereof in case of Fire he will Plaister or Rough Cast the Northerly side & Westerly end of the sd building, and for asmuch as that he cannot (with- out an unknown charge) expect a foundation there to build with Brick.
[170.] To Francis Borland of Boston, That whereas he having an old barn or Stable of 23 foot long on his land Scituate on the Westerly side of Sudbury Street in Boston lying between the Bowling Green and the Mill pond and being desirous to make the same comodious for a Coach house.
It's Consented unto That he have liberty to Erect an Addition (with timber) thereto of Eleven feet in length and four feet and an half in breadth to the whole and also an Addition of five feet more in heighth & to prevent danger by fire he will Ceil with plais- tering the nnder side of the Chamber floor.
October 6th 1715.
[11.] To Henry Hill, Eleazer Darby, David Craige. Nich- olas Boone and Samuel Adams in the behalf of themselves & their Associates to Erect a timber Edifice & Cover it wth shingle for a publick meeting house for the Service and Worship of God of 65 feet in length 45 feet in breadth and 31 feet stud with a flat roof and Battlements round the same on a peice of Land commonly called Church Green nigh unto Summer Street in Boston, the which peice of Land was lately by the Inhabitants of the Town of Boston Assembled in a public Town meeting granted to them for that use.

[172.] To John Roberts jun' (For the better carrying on his Trade of a Boatbuilder) to Erect a Timber shed or Workhouse of 36 feet in length 19 wide & 9 studd on his Wharffe lying against Lynn street between the proprietys of James Freeman and Ben- jamin Williams at the North end of Boston, the which building will stand next the River 50 feet distant below ye sd Street and 30 feet distant from a Kitchin belonging to a Tenement of ye sd M' Freemans which is the nearest building there now standing.
April 30th, 1716.
[173.] To Edward Hutchinson Esq" for and on the behalf of the proprietors of the Saltworks at the Neck of Land in Boston to Erect there a Timber building for the boyling and honsing of Salt of Sixty foot long, 40 foot wide, and Sixteen foot Stud, which (as is well known) will stand farr remote from any other building there now standing.
July 6th. 1716.
[14.] To Oliver Noyes Esq' to Erect a Timber building for a warehouse or Granary &c of 150 feet long 20 wide and 16 Stud, on his Flatts lying on the Northwesterly side of his proportion of

the Wall or Out Wharves Scituate on the southerly side of the Middle Gap (so called) in the Cove or Dock lying before the Town of Boston, the which building will stand more than 150 feet (listant from any other building now being or standing, it being Impracticable at present to build ye same there with Brick.

[175.] To John Williams of Boston Brewer to Ercet a Tim- ber building for a Brewhouse of 30 foot long, 20 wide and 14 Stud, on his Land which he lately purchased of Capt. Nathanael Green, Scituate nigh nnto Atkinsons Lane in Boston, the which building will stand Eighty six feet distant from a shed or cottage in the Rear of Mr. John Mannings Land which is the nearest building there now standing (near unto a highway which is there to be laid out) and at a farr greater distance from any other building.
July 31st. 1716.
[176.] To Mary Hough of Boston Widow to Erect a timber building for a smith shop and Coalhonse of 50 foot long 25 wide & 10 stud on her Wharffe & Flatts lying against her Land on the Easterly side of Ship street and next adjoyning to the water ways and Flatts belonging to the Salutation Tavern at ye North end of Boston, the which building is to stand (the North Easterly end thereof) twelve feet distant below that ye Smith Shop now in ye Tenure of Thomas Townsend which is One hundred and Eighty feet below the aforesd street or highway, the sª smith shop now designed to be built being Intended to be Occupied by Mr Nathan1 Ayres Anchorsmith and the present shop which he now hires of ye sd Hough (which stands in a more hazardous place in case of fire) being intended to be Improved no longer as a smith shop, but applyed to some other use.
Provided the sª Hough Place ye sd building fforty foot Father down from the street than is mentioned above.
October 4th 1716.
[177.] To John Nelson Esq' of Boston to erect a timber Building for a Warehouse of fifty feet long, Twenty five feet wide and fourteen foot Stud on the Wharfe now in his Tenurc, which formerly did belong to Deacon Theophilus ffrary de'cd, Situate at the South End of Boston the which Building (So Erected) will Stand One Hundred feet distant from any other Building there now Standing.
July 19 1717.
[178.] To Ebenezer Leadbetter of Boston Cordwainer to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 30 foot long 20 foot wide & 18 foot stud on his Land being part of that which formerly was John Masons pasture, abutting Southerly on the north Side of West street in Boston. The which building is to stand two rod distant from Mr John Briggs's Barn which is the nearest building there and ten rod distant from any Dwelling

[1]9.] To William Payne of Boston Esq' to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 40 foot long, 30 wide & 20 studd on liis Land being part of the new Range of Lotts on the Neck lying on the Northerly side of the line of Defence at the South end of Boston, the which building will stand about Two hundred feet distant from a house lately built by Mr George Terrant which is the nearest building there now standing.
[180.] To Daniel Oliver of Boston Merchant to Erect a timber building for a Warehouse of 60 feet long 24 Foot wide & 18 Foot studd on a Wharffe which he is abont to make on his Flatts being part of that which formerly was Gov Searles Flatts on the South Easterly side of that which was Harrisons Ropewalk in Boston, Scituate between the proprietys of William Tilley & Edward Grey, The which building will stand 60 feet distant from a Warehonse of M' William Tilleys & at a farr greater distance from any other building there now standing.
[181.] To Patrick Ogilvie of Boston Marriner to Erect a timber building for a Dwelling house of 55 feet long. 30 wide & 20 studd with a Kitchen of 20 feet Square to joyn on the Northerly side thereof, to stand on his Land abutting on the Northerly side of the Comon or Training Field next adjoyning to a pasture formerly belonging to M' Thomas Banister in Boston, the which building will stand more than 300 feet distant from any other building there now standing.
August 29, 1717.
[182.] To John Meinzies Esq'. to Erect a timber building for a Barn and Stable of 40 feet in length 18 feet in breadth & 10 feet high in the side walls within one pasture belonging to him & his Wife in Sumer street which will be abont 84 foot or thereby from the house also belonging to them now standing thereupon, which house is distant from any other house 100 foot or thereby on the one hand and more than 200 on the other hand and is bounded to the street by one little garden & to the Sonthward by the sª John Meinzies pasture.
[183.] To Thomas Hutchinson Esq' to Erect a timber build- ing for a warehouse of 40 feet long 18 wide & 16 studd to stand adjoyning to the lower end of another timber Warehouse of his of about the same dimensions to stand on that his Wharffe which formerly was Colo Fosters next unto the Wharffe which formerly was Mr John Vialls on the Easterly side of Ship Street in Boston, in ye same place & stead of an old timber Warehouse of his there now standing of 36 feet long 18 wide & 16 studd with a shed of 10 feet in length adjoyning at the lower end thereof, All of which he intends wholly to demolish
