Article 4. Voted to fix the compensation of the Collector of Taxes for the ensuing year at $500.

Voted that the cash balance of the Water Depart- ment amounting to $387.53 be used for the operation of the Water Department for the year 1928.


Voted that the accounts receivable of the Water Department amounting to $611.35 be used for the opera- tion of the Water Department for the year 1928.


Voted to raise and appropriate the following sums of money for defraying the expense of the town for the ensuing year:

Article 6. Voted to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money in antici- pation of the revenue of the current financial year begin- ning January 1, 1928 and to issue a note or notes there- for payable within one year and debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the resources of said financial year.


Article 7. Voted to instruct the Selectmen to prose- cute any person selling or transporting intoxicating liquors in this town contrary to the laws of the Common- wealth.


Article 8. Voted that the Dog Tax of 1927 be given to the Library.


Article 9. Voted to raise and appropriate $3500 to continue the permanent Highway work on the road lead- ing from Wilbraham Center to the Hampden line pro- viding the State and County furnish a like amount.


Article 10. Voted to raise and appropriate $1500 to resurface the road from the intersection of Springfield and Faculty Streets to Riply Avenue provided the State and County furnish a like amount.

Article 11. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $100 to be expended by the Trustees for County Aid to Agriculture for the County of Hampden in accord- ance with the provisions of Chapter 273 of the Acts of 1918, the same to be applied for the purpose of teach- ing and demonstrating better practice in Agriculture and home making.


Article 12. Voted not to accept as public streets of the town, Pomeroy Street, Pleasant Street, Merrick Ave- nue and Riply Street.


Article 13. Voted to leave to Selectmen to confer, with the State and County Officials regarding necessary funds.


Article 14. Voted to raise and appropriate $350.00 to purchase and install a fire siren to be placed in the South part of the town.


Article 15. Voted to rescind a vote of a former Special Town Meeting in regard to the keeping of the Chemical Fire Truck in the Fire Station at North Wil- braham. Voted to station the Truck at Wilbraham.

Article 17. Voted that the matter be left to the Selectmen.

Article 20. Voted not to appoint a Committee for the purpose of preparing a zoning by-law and map for the town.

Article 21. Voted to instruct the Selectmen to have signs erected at all the Wilbraham schools as warnings to motorists. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $100.00 for this purpose.


Article 22. Voted not to raise and appropriate the sum of $500.00 for the purpose of straightening the stones in Adams Cemetery.


Article 23. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $300.00 for the use of the Wilbraham Post of the American Legion in carrying out the following program :


a. The proper observance of Memorial Day.


b. The care of Memorial lots at North Wilbraham, Wilbraham and Glendale.


Article 24. Voted to abolish the watering tub at Wilbraham Street.


Voted to authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money in anticipation of reimbursement by the State and County for the Highway work designated in Articles 9 and 10, and to issue a note or notes therefor payable within one year, and debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the re- sources of the current financial year.


Voted to accept the report of the Committee to re- vise the by-laws of the town.


Voted that all money appropriated at this meeting be raised and assessed on the polls and estates of the town.

REPORT OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING Held July 3, 1928


Article 1. Frederick A. Upham was chosen Modera- tor of the meeting.


Article 2. Voted to pass the article.


Article 3. Voted to raise and appropriate $1450.00 in addition to the amount raised at the Annual Town Meeting to purchase and install a fire signal apparatus to be placed in the South part of the town.


Article 4. On an amendment to authorize the Water Commissioners to employ an Assistant from Jan. 1, 1928 to July 1, 1928. Not carried. On a motion to see if the town will authorize the Water Commissioners to employ an Assistant to enable them to render a report upon the condition of the works under their charge and an account of their doings. Not carried.


Motion to take up Article 2, Not Carried.


Voted to adjourn.
