LEHIGH.

Population of 3.500 and 8,000 in a radius of five miles. An incorporated city located on the M. K. & T. Ry .. in the Choctaw Nation, 9 miles northwest of toka and 60 miles north of Deni- son, Texas. It is in the heart of the most extensive coal field in the terri- tory and is a mining town, though it is growing very rapidly to be one of the best agricultural towns in the nation. 5,000 bales of cotton were handled the season of 1901 and also about 70,000 bushels of wheat and this industry is rapidly growing. The immense min- ing interests now developed and con- stautly being developed offer a market for all classes of mining tools and machinery and this branch of mann- facturing will be a bonanza for those

entering the field at an early date. The business men of Lehigh are pro- gressive and up to date. Has milling. lumber and trading facilities and three railroads surveyed in the vicin- ity and will very soon have every transportation facility desired. The Lehigh National Bank does the bank- ing business of the city. The business men of Lehigh have arranged to build handsome stone and brick business blocks. The live stock interest is the largest of the Choctaw Nation and the Choctaw Live Stock Protective Asso- ciation has its headquarters here, where they meet each month. The re- ligious denominations are well repre- sented, having Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian and Catholic churches. has also good schools. A weekly news- paper, the Leader is also published.
