Chrift Church Hofpital is fituated here ;- an endowment for aged wo- men of the Proteftant Epifcopal church, made by Dr. John Kearfly, formerly an eminent phyfician in this city ; who bequeathed, for this purpofe, an eftate, chiefly landed, which he vefted in the rector, church wardens, and veftrymen of the united Epifcopal churches of Chrift church and St. Peter's.


Since the endowment of this inftitution, it has received a confiderable acceffion of property, by the gift of Mr. Jofeph Dobbins, a native of Philadelphia, now refiding in Carolina, and others.


Dr. Kearfley's will requires, that the women belonging to this inftitution fhall be fupplied with meat, drink, and lodging ; with neceffary affift- ance in phyfic and furgery. There are about nineteen aged females fupported by this eftablifhment.
