in the center of the King ranch, which Is without doubt the largest ranch in the United States owned by a single indi- vidual. The ranch was established by Captain Richard M. King for cattle rais- ing and the vast acres of rich land shows his knowledge of the soil and climate as


of the King ranch have now under con- struction a ranch house near Kingsville, costing $300.000. Kingsville Is a pros- perous growing city. The general shops of the St. L., B. & M. Ry. are located here and furnish employment to a large force. The city is lighted by electricity; has paved streets, water works and sewer system. Has churches of the leading denominations, good schools, 2 banks, a weekly newspaper, cotton gins, cotton oil mill, ice plant, steam laundry and a creamery. Is favorably situated for dalrying, cattle raising, cotton, corn and truck farming. The county Is still new and undeveloped, but is attracting much attention for actual settlers. Real estate values are reasonable but advancing. In the near future Kingsville will be the center of a well developed farming and dairying country.
