CENSUS OF 1820
RANDOLPH COUNTY (Continued)
The 1818 census for Randolph County is missing, probably lost in the fire which scorched and partially destroyed the 1818 census for St. Clair County. A one page "return of the additional census," bound out of place in the volume, appears to be a fragment of the sup- plemental census for Randolph County. James Thompson took both the state and federal census for 1820, certifying the state enumeration on November 27, 1820, and the federal enumeration January 6, 1821. The two lists are not identical, however, the state list contain- ing 541 families and the federal list containing 547 families. Thirty families named in the state census are not found in the federal census, and thirty-six named in the federal census are not found in the state census, in addition to which one name in the federal census is illegible.
Those families appearing only in the federal census are as follows:
Barbo, Silas Barrettel, Francis Bradley, Joshua Cassey, Antoine Clark, Robert
