John Russell took both censuses for 1820, certifying the state census on the second and the federal census on the sixteenth of December. The state census for 1818 was taken by Martin Jones and dated May 14.
George W. Meguire, a "foreigner not naturalized," between the ages of 16 and 26, and with no family, is given in the federal census as residing between Andrew Bowman (96) and Burd E. Miles (97).

Charles Patrick took both censuses for 1820, certifying the state census on November 20 and the federal census on November 25. Returns for 1818 are included in the 1818 census for Crawford County, from which Clark County was set off in 1819. Except for minor rearrangements of a few names and the variations in spelling noted below, the 1820 censuses are identical.
