WARRANT.
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.
MIDDLESEX, SS.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Wayland in said County. Greeting :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said town qualified to vote in Town elections and in Town affairs to meet at the Town Hall on Monday, March 26, 1906, at 6 o'clock in the forenoon, there and then to act on the following articles, viz :-
ARTICLE 1. To elect a Moderator, Town Clerk, Treasurer, Col- lector of Taxes, Auditor, Highway Surveyor, three Selectmen, Treasurer of Library Funds, Tree Warden, and seven Constables, all for one year; one member of School Committee, one Sinking Fund Commissioner, one Assessor, one Water Commissioner, one Overseer of the Poor, two Trustees of the Public Library, one

member of the Board of Health, all for three years. Also to vote "Yes " or "No" upon the following question : " Shall licenses for the sale of intoxicating liquors be granted in this Town for the year ensuing? "
Names of Candidates for the offices aforesaid, and the said question must appear upon the official ballot, and be voted for in accordance with Chapter 11 of the Revised Laws of Massachusetts. The polls will be open from 6-10 o'clock A. M. and closed at 2 P. M., unless otherwise ordered by the voters present.
ART. 2. To choose all other Town Officers, Agents and Com- mittees ; and hear reports of Town Officers, Trustees, Agents, and Committees, and act thereon.
ART. 3. To grant money for any and all necessary Town pur- poses, and order the same to be assessed, or do or act.
ART. 4. To authorize the Selectmen to consult counsel on im- portant Town cases, and, in the name of the Town, employ counsel and defend any action at law or suit in equity that may be brought against the Town, or do or act.
ART. 5. To see if the Town will accept the list of jurors as pre- pared by the Selectmen, or do or act.
ART. 6. To appropriate the money received from the County Treasurer for dog licenses.
ART. 7. To authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow during the municipal year beginning March 1, 1906, in anticipation of the collection of taxes of said year, such sums of money as may be necessary for the current expenses of the Town, but not exceeding the total tax levy for said year, giving the notes of the Town therefor, payable within one year from the dates thereof. All debts incurred under authority of this vote shall be paid from the taxes of the present municipal year.
ART. 8. To see if the Town will vote to place an electric light at the junction of King Street and Mitchell Street, Cochituate Vil- lage, and appropriate money for same, or do or act.
Art. 9. To see if the Town will authorize and instruct the Selectmen to petition the General Court for such legislation as shall

preserve to our citizens the right of boating, fishing, and skating upon Lake Cochituate, or take any action relative thereto.
ART. 10. To see if the Town will appropriate not exceeding $965.08 for work against the gypsy and brown-tail moths in 1906.
ART. 11. To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to cancel the lease to the Catholic Church of the room in the Town Hall, or do or act.
ART. 12. To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to lease the room in the Town Hall now occupied by the Catholic Church to the Wayland Business Men's and Athletic Association.
ART. 13. To see if the Town will appropriate not exceeding one thousand ($1,000) dollars for the construction of a concrete or as- phalt sidewalk from the railroad station to the further end of the High School lot, and for establishing a grade and for improvement of the main street of the Centre Village.
ART. 14. To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to in- stall additional street lights, in and near Wayland Centre, or do or act.
ART. 15. To see if the Town will accept the provisions of Arti- cles 21 to 25 inclusive of Chapter 78, Revised Laws, providing for the Election of Cemetery Commissioners, or do or act.
ART. 16. To see if the Town will accept the sum of three hun- dred dollars from the estate of Edward L. Moore, the income thereof to be used for the care and improvement of the lot and monument of David Moore, in West (North) Cemetery.
ART. 17. To see if the Town will accept a bequest under the will of Abbie M. Heard, deceased, late of Wayland.
ART. 18. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of one hundred dollars to use for resetting headstones in the North Ceme- tery and for needed repairs on lots where there are no representa- tives of their family left to care for them.
ART. 19. To see if the Town will authorize and direct the Se- lectmen to appoint an additional engineer of the Fire Department resident in the centre village, said engineer to organize and direct a Volunteer Fire Company for the centre village, or do or act.

ART. 20. To see if the Town will vote to move the electric light on Harrison Street some two hundred feet west from its pres- ent position, or do or act.
ART. 21. To see if the Town will accept the provisions of Sec- tion 353 of chapter 11 of the Revised Laws, providing for election of town officers by precinct voting and for voting on the question of granting licenses for the sale of intoxicating liquors.
ART. 22. To see if the Town will repeal or modify Section 7 of the By-Laws of the Town or revise or repeal any part of said By-Laws, or do or act.
ART. 23. To see what action the Town will take in regard to the purchase of the land known as Griffin Field, or do or act.
And you are required to serve this warrant by posting a copy thereof attested by you at each of the Post Offices, at the Engine House and at the Town House in said town, seven days at least be- fore the appointed time for holding said meeting. Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, on or before Saturday, March 24, current.

The contract for heating the Town Hall has been completed to the satisfaction of the Selectmen.

Town of Wayland.
We have perambulated the town lines between Lincoln and Way- land, Natick and Wayland, and between Sudbury and Wayland. The boundary stones were located and found in good condition.
We have been compelled to overdraw the incidental account to the amount of $401.12, this was made necessary by drawing upon this account for the extra police service.
The Selectmen have provided for the disposal of the surface water on Shawmut avenue, and the expense was drawn from the Highway appropriation.
In accordance with a vote of the Town four additional electric lights have been installed in Cochituate.
In regard to contracting with the Edison Electric Illuminating Company for lighting the streets of Cochituate, the Board thought it advisable to make a one-year contract.
In accordance with the vote of the Town in regard to Sherman's Bridge, we have petitioned the County Commissioners with the Town of Sudbury. The County Commissioners gave a hearing on the petition and the bridge will be rebuilt this year.
