ART. 5 .- Voted, That the rate of wages for removing snow be the same as last year, 25 cents per hour.
ART. 6 .- Voted, To accept the list of jurors as proposed by the Selectmen.
ART. 7 .- Voted, That the Town authorize the Overseers of the Poor to contract at their discretion for the support of the Town's poor.
ART. 8 .- Voted, That the Treasurer be and is hereby au-

thorized and directed with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow temporarily in anticipation of the taxes of the pres- ent municipal year, such sums of money as the same may be from time to time required, and to give the negotiable note or notes of the Town for money so borrowed, and that all such temporary loans shall be payable from the said taxes.
ART. 9 .- To hear the report of any committee. Voted, That the by-laws printed in the Annual Town Report for 1897 be referred back to the committee for alteration, and that they report at the next March meeting.
ART. 12 .- Voted, That the way and manner in which the taxes shall be collected be the same as last year. Five per cent. discount to be allowed upon all taxes paid on or be- fore October Ist, 1898; four per cent., on or before Novem- ber Ist, 1898; three per cent., on or before December Ist, 1898.
Voted, That all the taxes shall be collected by the Ist of January, 1899.
ART. 10 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $100 for Memorial Day.
ART. II .- To make allowance to Town creditors, Voted, To pass over.
ART. 15 .- Voted, That the Town authorize its Annual Report to be printed and distributed in the month of Febru- ary each year, and that the report shall be out by the middle of the month.
ART. 16 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $15 for the care of the old meeting house, Lane Cemetery (Prospect street ).
ART. 17 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $100 for cattle inspection.
ART. 18 .- To see if the Town will abate the uncollected taxes of from 1887 to 1889, amounting to $158.02. Voted, To pass over.

ART. 19 .- To see if the Town will purchase a road roller. Voted, To pass over.
ART. 20 .- Voted, That a committee consisting of the School Committee, be a committee to consider the subject of better accommodation for the East Grammar School, com- mittee to report at a future Town meeting.
ART. 21 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $100 for a pump and appurtances at Bound Brook, said sum to be expended under the direction of the Selectmen.
ART. 22 .- Voted, That the Town authorize the Town Clerk to have the ancient Town records preserved by enclos- ing the same in transparent silk, at a cost not to exceed $30.
ART. 23 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $500 to repair the road from Peter Murphy's to the light house, to be expended under the direction of the Highway Surveyor.
ART. 24 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $1,000 to repair the road and sidewalk on Front street, at the harbor, and to repair the bridge railing along the same, to be expended under the direction of the Highway Surveyor.
ART. 27 .- Voted, That the Town authorize the Select- men to execute new deeds in the name of the Town, to the parties buying the Grove street school house lot and the Beach street school house lot, William W. Damon and Eli- jah P. Pratt, the Town to pay for the recording of the same.
ART. 28 .- Relating to setting out ornamental trees. Voted, To pass over.
ART. 29 .- Building a sidewalk on the westerly side of Beach street. Voted, To pass over.
ART. 30 .- Voted, That the Selectmen be a committee to investigate the subject of purchasing one or more chemical fire engines, one to be located at North Scituate and one at the harbor. Committee to report at a future meeting.
ART. 31 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropri- ate $200 to employ a drawing teacher in the schools.

ART. 32 .- Voted, That the Town purchase of Mrs. Wills a sufficient quantity of land to square the Hatherly school house lot, and fence the same, and that the sum of $250 be raised and appropriated for that purpose.
ART. 33 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $200 to grade the grounds around the Hatherly school house, to be expended under the direction of the School Committee.
ART. 34 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $125 to cement the High school house cellar, to be expended under the direction of the School committee.
ART. 36 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $75 to be expended by the Road Surveyor, for grading and seeding the Common at the East Grammar school house.
ART. 37 .- Raising and appropriating $100 for shadetrees. Voted, To indefinitely postpone.
ART. 38 .- Providing work for tramps. Voted, To in- definitely postpone.
ART. 40 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $150 for special repairs on the road and waterways near the junction of Main and Blossom streets, Gannett's Corner, to be expended under the direction of the Highway Surveyor.
ART. 42 .- Voted, That the Town authorize and instruct the Selectmen to grant a license to Thomas P. Mulcay to build and maintain a stable for more than four horses on his premises at North Scituate Beach, in accordance with Chapter 395 of the Acts of 1890.
ART. 43 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $200 to build a sidewalk on the northerly side of Main street, from the corner of Curtis and Branch streets to a point op- posite the house of Miss Roberta Jenkins.
ART. 44 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $500 for special repairs on the road from Buttonwood to North Scituate Beach, to be expended under the direction of the Highway Surveyor.

ART. 45 .- Voted, That the Town authorize its Treas- urer to pay a bounty of twenty-five cents a head for all wood- chucks brought to him and killed within the limits of the town.
ART. 46 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $200 for special repairs on High street, between the house of Abner N. Bates and the Norwell line, to be expended under the direction of the Highway Surveyor.
ART. 47 .- Voted, That the Town authorize the Town officers to consult counsel and raise and appropriate $50 for that purpose.
ART. 49 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $100, to widen the corner of Summer and Cedar streets, to be expended under the direction of the Highway Surveyor.
ART. 50 .- Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $100 for a sidewalk from the corner of High and Summer streets to the Cohasset line, to be expended under the direc- tion of the Highway Surveyor.
ART. 51 .- Accepting Chapter 170, Acts of 1891, giving towns jurisdiction of highways, etc. Referred to next an- nual meeting.
Voted, That the thanks of the Town be extended to Henry Webb, and that he be paid $5 for his services as Mod- erator.
