ART. 7. Voted, That the Town authorize the Overseers of the Poor to contract at their discretion for the support of the Town's poor.


ART. 8. Voted, That the Treasurer be and is hereby au- thorized and directed, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow temporarily in anticipation of the taxes of the pres- ent municipal year, such sums of money as the same may be from time to time required, and to give the negotiable note or notes of the town for money so borrowed, and that all such temporary loans shall be payable from the said taxes.


ART. 9. To hear the report of any committee. George H. Webb, one of the committee chosen at the annual meeting in March, 1898, to investigate the subject of purchasing one or more chemical fire engines, reported to the meeting.


Voted, To accept the report.


Voted, To indefinitely postpone the matter.


Voted, That the Town accept the By-Laws as framed by the committee, and printed in the annual report.


ART. IO. Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $100.00 for Memorial Day.


ART. 12. Voted, That the way and manner in which the taxes shall be collected be the same as last year-5 per cent. discount to be allowed upon all taxes paid on or be- fore October 1, 1899; 4 per cent. on or before November I, 1899; 3 per cent, on or before December 1, 1899.


Voted, That all the taxes shall be collected by the first of January, 1900.


ART. 14. Relating to the Town raising money to pre- serve order. Voted, To pass over.


ART. 15. Voted, That the Town authorize its annual re- port to be printed and distributed in the month of February each year until changed by vote of the Town.

$5 for the care of the Old Meeting House Lane Cemetery, Prospect street.


ART. 17. Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $100 for slaughter house inspection.

ART. 19. Voted, That the Town raise and appropriate $25 to repair the bridge railing on Front street at the harbor.


ART. 21. To see if the Town will authorize its Treasurer to give a deed of the Grove Street School House and lot. Voted, To pass over.


ART. 22. To see if the Town will raise such sums of money as may be necessary to pay a proper charge of an in- surance company for acting a surety on official bonds ? Voted, To pass over.


ART. 27. Voted, That the Town appropriate the school house yard at Greenbush for a highway and relocate the building thereon under the direction of the School Commit- tee and Selectmen.


ART. 28. Voted, That the Selectmen, with Henry Webb, be a committee to estimate the expense of repairing and re- building the roads and bridges damaged by the storm of November 27, 1898, and report at a future town meeting.


ART. 29. Voted, That the Highway Surveyor be in- structed to move the sidewalk between Mr. Charles N. Tur- ner's and the Old School House lot, nearer the side line of the road and the road widened to that extent. The expense of the same to be taken out of the general appropriation for roads and bridges.


Voted, That the thanks of the Town be extended to Henry T. Bailey, and that he be paid $5 for his services as Moder- ator.


Voted, To dissolve the meeting.
