The Grammar grades have shown a most surprising de- gree of interest and ability in the two part work, which has
-84-
progressed steadily, making the lesson particularly inter- esting and beneficial to pupil and teacher. The half hour allotted each room is spent before any realize the fact, and is often extended quite a little beyond the limit.
The High School work has been to learn a correct and in- telligent rendering of songs from the book provided, and to get a thorough understanding of the reading of them; there have also been suggestions in the managing of the voice.
Much credit and many thanks are due the teacher who so carefully and thoroughly drills the school in preparing this work.
The supervisor also wishes to thank each of the other teachers for the great interest shown in this work, and the time devoted to it; their own personal advancement is suf- ficient proof of their faithfulness.
Respectfully submitted,
LILLIE C. STODDARD.
