WIDENING OF CHARLES STREET. SCITUATE,
MASS.
The Selectmen of Scituate, in the County of Plymouth, and Commonwealth of Massachusetts. after a view and pub- lic hearing held at the Egypt station of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, on the twenty-second day of June. 1904, at nine o'clock a. m., due notice having been giv- en in writing, as required by the law, to all land owners and interested parties. have widened, altered and defined the bounds of the town way in said Scituate, known as Charles Street, as follows, viz: Beginning at a point in the present southerly line of Mt. Vernon Street, at the corner of said Charles street as now located, and running thence South 28 degrees west, in the present westerly line of said Charles street, four hundred and eighty (480) feet to an angle at the division line between lands of Thomas W. Lawson and Harriet M. Curtis; thence south 29 degrees. 8 minutes west, in said present westerly line of said street, two hundred fifty and seven tenths (250 7-10) feet to a point at the end of a cross fence on land of Harriet M. Curtis aforesaid: thence by a curve to the right of 103 5-100 feet radius, one hundred seventy-one and seventy-six one hundredths (171 76-100) feet : thence north 74 degrees, 9 minutes west, one hundred and sixty ( 160) feet, and thence by a curve to the left of . 287 65-100 feet radius, one hundred forty-eight and forty- eight one hundredths ( 148 48-100) feet. all in or near the present northerly line of said Charles street, and thence south 76 degrees. 15 minutes west, one hundred thirty-eight and eight-tenths ( 1388-10) feet on land of Stephen Litchfield, same course, two hundred seventy-four and two-tenths (27.12-10) feet, on land of Thomas W. Lawson, to a point in the northeasterly line of land of the Old Colony Railroad Company now leased by the New York. New Haven and Hatrford Railroad Company-the above described line to

form the westerly and northerly line of location of said Charles street.
Said town way is to extend in width on the easterly and. southerly side of the above described line to a line described as follows, viz: . Beginning at a point in the southerly line of Mt. Vernon street, aforesaid, bearing south 71 degrees, 40 minutes east, fifty and two-tenths (50 2-10) feet distant from the initial point of the above described westerly line of location, and running thence south 29 degrees, 8 minutes west, one hundred and eighty-nine ( 189) feet in the present town way, and on land of Thomas J. Newcomb, same course, sixty-five (65) feet. on land of Irving F. Litchfield, same course, one hundred and sixty-seven ( 167) feet on land of Annis Harwood, and same course, sixty-seven and three- tenths (67 3-10) feet on land of Harriet M. Curtis to a point opposite, and forty (40) feet distant easterly from the angle in the said westerly line of location "at the division line be- tween lands of Thomas W. Lawson and Harriet M. Curtis"; thence southerly and westerly in a line parallel with and forty (40) feet distant from the above described westerly and northerly line of location to a point in the northeasterly line of location of the Old Colony Railroad, now leased by the New York. New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company. Said described line to form the easterly and southerly line of location of said Charles street.
All as shown on plan filed herewith and made a part here- of. Said town way is to be worked in the center of the lo- cation to lines parallel with and seven (7) feet distant from each line of location as above described, crowned twelve ( 12) inches in the center and the surface thereof covered with hard' and durable material. ' Owners of land taken for said town way and widenings as aforesaid, are required to re- move their trees, fences and other obstructions from the lands so taken before the first day of April, 1905.
The inhabitants of the Town of Scituate, aforesaid, are ordered to cause said town way to be worked and con-

structed as aforesaid and made safe and convenient for the public travel, on or before the first day of October, 1905. At the same time awarded to the several pesons whose lands are taken for said town way and widenings or who suffer damages on account thereof, the several sums hereafter named to be paid from the Town Treasury so soon as said town shall enter upon and possession take of said lands for the purpose of constructing said town way and widenings as aforesaid,-Thomas J. Newcomb. ten dollars: Irving F. Litchfield. five dollars: Annis Harwood, twenty dollars; Harriet W. Curtis, sixty dollars: Margaret Curtis, sustains no damage; Stephen Litchfield, twenty-five dollars; Thomas W. Lawson.
And the Selectmen order that the foregoing return be filed with the Town Clerk of said Scituate, to be presented to the inhabitants of said Town of Scituate for their accept- ance at some future town meeting duly held for that purpose.
In witness whereof the said Selectmen have hereunto set their hands at Scituate, Mass .. this twenty-second day of December, in the year one thousand nine hundred and four.

The Selectmen of Scituate in the County of Plymouth and Commonwealth of Massachusetts after a view and public hearing held on the premises on the twenty-second day of June A. Owners of land taken for said town way as aforesaid are required to remove their trees, fences, buildings and other obstructions from the lands so taken before the first day of April, 1905.
The inhabitants of the Town of Scituate, aforesaid, are ordered to cause said town way to be worked and construct- ed and made safe and convenient for the public travel on or before the first day of October, 1905.
At the same time awarded to the several persons whose lands are taken for said town way, or who suffer damages on account thereof, the several sums hereafter named to be paid from the town treasury so soon as said town shall en- ter upon and possession take of said lands for the purpose of constructing said town way as aforesaid,- George F. Welch, three hundred dollars; John P. Flaherty, twenty dollars; Minnie L. Welch, one hundred dollars.
And the Selectmen order that the foregoing return be filed with the Town Clerk of said Scituate, to be presented to the inhabitants of said town of Scituate for their accept- ance at some future town meeting duly held for that pur- pose.

Ellms, said point being forty (40) feet distant from said described line of location measured at right angles thereto, and running thence north 89 degrees oo minutes west, by a stone wall on land of said Ellms, forty-eight and fifteen one-hundredths (48 15-100) feet to a point in the easterly line of said Bay street. The above last described section of town way courses substantially the location of the way now known as "Turner avenue." and this new location is made to correct an informality in the former location .: See plan filed here- with and made a part hereof.
Owners of lands taken for said town way and all persons having buildings or other obstructions within the limits of said town way as aforesaid, are requested to remove their trees, fences, buildings, or other obstructions from the lands so taken before the first day of April, 1905.
The inhabitants of the town of Scituate, aforesaid, are or- dered to cause said town way to the worked and construct- ed, made safe and convenient for the public travel on or be- fore the first day of October, 1905.
At the same time awarded to the several persons whose lands are taken for said town way or who suffer damages on account thereof, the several sums hereafter named to be paid from the Town treasury so soon as said Town shall en- ter upon and possession take of said lands for the purpose of constructing said way as aforesaid.
