To the Constables of the Town of Arlington, in said County :


Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabi- tants of the Town of Arlington, qualified as the Consti- tution requires, to vote in elections, to meet at the polling places designated for the several precincts in said town on Monday, the 3rd day of March, 1930, at seven o'clock in the forenoon, to act on the following Articles namely :


Article 1. To elect by ballot the following Town offi- cers: A Town Clerk for three years; a Town Treasurer for three years; a Tax Collector for three years; a Mod- erator for one year ; a Selectman for three years ; a mem- ber of the Board of Public Works for three years; one Assessor for two years ; one Assessor for three years ; one member of the School Committee for one year; three members of the School Committee for three years; two Trustees of the Robbins Library for three years; one member of the Board of Health for three years ; one Park Commissioner for three years; one member of the Plan- ning Board for three years; one Commissioner of the Sinking Fund for three years; one Trustee of the Pratt Fund for five years; one Trustee of the Edwin S. Farmer Poor Widows' Fund, and of the Edwin S. Farmer Fund for Needy Persons for five years; one Cemetery Commis-

For these purposes, the polls will be opened at seven o'clock A. M., and remain open until eight o'clock P.M., at each of the polling places designated, viz: Precinct One, in the Crosby School Building, Winter Street; Precinct Two, in the Hardy School Building, Lake Street; Pre- cincts Three and Five, in the Old Town Hall, Massa- chusetts Avenue; Precincts Four and Six, in the Robbins Memorial Town Hall; Precinct Seven, in the Locke School Building, Park Avenue, Heights.


You are, also, required to notify and warn the said inhabitants to meet at the Town Hall in said Town on Wednesday, the twenty-sixth day of March, 1930, at eight o'clock in the evening to act on the following arti- cles :


Article 2. To choose and appoint all other usual Town officers not hereinbefore mentioned, in such man- ner as the Town may determine.


Article 3. To hear and act, on the reports of the permanent committee under vote of the Town passed March 24, 1919 on the Town Yard; of the committee under vote of the Town passed April 5, 1926 to investigate and consider the matter of additional school accommo- dations ; of the committee under vote of the Town passed March 26, 1926 for the purpose of building a Police Sta-

tion House and lockup for the use of the Police Depart- ment; of the committee under vote of the Town passed January 14, 1926 to consider the condition of Spy Pond; of the committee under vote of the Town passed April 4, 1928 to make a comprehensive study of a community or other building as a memorial to commemorate the services and sacrifices of persons who served in the World War; of the committee under vote of the Town, passed November 29, 1927 to procure plans and specifications for the construction of a twelve room addition to the present Junior High School West building, also estimates of the cost of such addition and of the original equip- ment and furnishings thereof, and for the grading of the grounds of said school, and under the vote of the Town passed April 4, 1928 to construct a twelve room unit addition to the schoolhouse called the "Junior High West" building ; of the committee under vote of the Town passed March 28, 1928 to construct a building to be used for an engine house upon the land of the Town on the northerly side of Massachusetts Avenue in said Town now occupied by the Highland Hose House so called; of the committee under vote of the Town passed March 28, 1928 to procure plans and specifications for the construc- tion of an eight room addition to the present Peirce School building, also estimates of the cost of such addi- tion and of the original equipment and furnishings thereof and of the grading of the grounds of said school, and under vote of the Town passed March 27, 1929 to con- struct an eight room addition to the school-house called the Peirce School; of the committee under vote of the Town passed April 4, 1928 to investigate the Junior High School system; of the committee under vote of the Town passed April 10, 1929 to secure plans and estimates for repairs and additions to the Robbins Library Building ; of the committee under vote of the Town passed April 10, 1929 to investigate and make recommendations for the purpose of improving for park uses that portion of Meadow Brook Park north of the sewer viaduct; of the

committee under vote of the Town passed April 10, 1929 to investigate and make recommendations as to the dis- posal of the Old Town Hall, including any portion or all of the lot, by sale or otherwise; of the committee ap- pointed under vote of the Town, passed April 10, 1929 to secure plans and estimates for a new High School building; and of other Town boards and officers and of the Finance and other committees heretofore appointed.


Article 4. To make appropriations to defray Town obligations, liabilities, outlay and expenses and especially for or relating to all or any of the boards, departments, purposes and matters hereinafter mentioned; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 5. To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer, under the direction of the Selectmen, to borrow money in anticipation of the revenue for the year 1930, the same to be repaid directly from the pro- ceeds of said revenue; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 6. To see if the Town will authorize its Col- lector of Taxes to use all means of collecting taxes for the year 1930, which a Town Treasurer may use when appointed a Collector of Taxes.


Article 7. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation for the extension of the Sewerage System; de- termine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 8. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation for the extension of Water Mains; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 9. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation for the extension of Storm Drains; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 10. To see if the Town will make appro- priation for the construction of permanent sidewalks and for the installing of edgestone; determine in what man- ner the money shall be raised; or take any action re- lating thereto.


Article 11. To see if the Town will accept the laying out of a town way from sixty (60) feet northwest

of Tanager Street to the easterly side line of Sutherland Road substantially in the location of the private way known as Aberdeen Road, as made and reported by the Joint Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works, under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments; establish said way; make an appro- priation for said laying out and the construction of said way ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised ; or take any action relating thereto.


Said way as so laid out is bounded and described as follows :


Beginning at a point on the northerly side line of Aberdeen Road at the westerly end of the present ac- cepted portion, thence northwesterly on said northerly side line of Aberdeen Road, a distance of 300.65 feet to a point, thence southwesterly across said Aberdeen Road, a distance of 40 feet to a point in the southerly side line of Aberdeen Road at lot number 117, thence southeast- erly on said southerly side line of Aberdeen Road, a dis- tance of 253.72 feet to a point of curve in said southerly side line of Aberdeen Road, thence continuing south- easterly on said southerly side line of Aberdeen Road, on a curve to the left with a radius of 645.82 feet, a distance of 34.69 feet to a point of tangency in said southerly side line of Aberdeen Road, thence continuing southeasterly on said southerly side line of Aberdeen Road, a distance of 10.46 feet to the present accepted portion of Aberdeen Road, thence northeasterly by end of present accepted portion of Aberdeen Road, a distance of 38.55 feet to the point of beginning, as shown on a plan on file at the office of the Town Clerk, Arlington, Mass., entitled "Board of Survey Plan and Profile of Aberdeen Road, Ar- lington, Mass., Scales Hor. 1"=40', Vert. 1"=6', Dec. 5, 1917, Geo. To see if the Town will accept the lay- ing out of a town way from Massachusetts Avenue to Moulton Road substantially in the location of the private way known as Coleman Road, as made and reported by the Joint Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works, under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments; establish said way; make an appropria- tion for said laying out and the construction of said way ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.


Said way as so laid out is bounded and described as follows :


Beginning at the point of intersection of the west- erly side line of Massachusetts Avenue and the northerly side line of Coleman Road, thence southeasterly and southerly on said northerly side line of Coleman Road on a curve to the right with a radius of 25 feet, a distance of 45.10 feet to a point of tangency in said northerly side line of Coleman Road, thence southwesterly on said northerly side line of Coleman Road, a distance of 251.96 feet to an angle point in said northerly side line of Coleman Road, thence continuing south- westerly on said northerly side line of Coleman Road, a

distance of 218.10 feet to a point of curve on said north- erly side line of Coleman Road, thence westerly and north- westerly on said northerly side line of Coleman Road, on a curve to the right with a radius of 25 feet, a dis- tance of 38.22 feet to the easterly side line of Moulton Road, thence southeasterly on said easterly side line of Moulton Road, a distance of 90.08 feet to the southerly side line of Coleman Road, thence northwesterly and northerly on said southerly side line of Coleman Road on a curve to the right with a radius of 25 feet, a distance of 40.32 feet to a point of tangency in said southerly side line of Coleman Road, thence northeasterly on said southerly side line of Coleman Road, a distance of 214.64 feet to an angle point in said southerly side line of Cole- man Road, thence continuing northeasterly on said south- erly side line of Coleman Road, a distance of 273.05 feet to a point of curve in said southerly side line of Coleman Road, thence easterly and southeasterly on said southerly side line of Coleman Road, on a curve to the right with a radius of 25 feet, a distance of 33.43 feet to the westerly side line of Massachusetts Avenue, thence northwesterly on said westerly side line of Massachusetts Avenue, a distance of 92.51 feet to the point of beginning, as shown on a plan on file at the office of the Town Clerk, Arlington, Mass., entitled "Plan and Profile of Coleman Road As Petitioned for by Sarah R.
