CONSTABLE'S RETURN
Arlington, Mass., May 19, 1930.
Middlesex County :
By virtue of this warrant I have notified and warned the legal voters of the Town of Arlington to meet at the time and place and for the purposes herein named by causing a printed attested copy of the same to be left at every dwelling house in the Town, and by posting an attested copy at the doors of the Town Hall seven days at least before said day of meeting and by posting attested copies in two or more conspicuous places in each voting precinct in the Town. A notice of the time, place and objects of the meeting was published in the local papers.

SPECIAL MEETING
Arlington, May 26, 1930.
Pursuant to the Warrant of the Selectmen served according to law upon the inhabitants of the Town by a Constable of said Town, notices having been sent by mail by the Town Clerk seven days before the day of meeting to the Town Meeting Members elected and qualified to act in Town Meetings in Arlington, and posted at two places in each precinct, the Town Meeting Members met in the Robbins Memorial Town Hall in said Town on Mon- day, May 26, 1930, at eight o'clock in the evening. The Warrant calling the meeting was the notice sent by mail by the Town Clerk.

Lists of the duly qualified Town Meeting Members were used at the entrances of the meeting place and were in charge of Albert K. Peirce and James E. Sweeney. The lists contained the names of two hundred and seventy Town Meeting Members.
The Check Lists filed with the Town Clerk at the close of the meeting showed that one hundred and eighty-eight members attended the meeting.
The Town Meeting Members who had not already been sworn were sworn by the Moderator.
The meeting was called to order at eight ten o'clock P.M. by the Moderator, Curtis H. Waterman.

Mr. Wyman explained briefly the purpose of this Article, saying that there was much confusion on account of the similarity in names of streets. This confusion

could cause a very serious situation many times and par- ticularly in relation to the Fire Department.
Considerable opposition to this change of names was expressed by various citizens in different parts of the town.
Mr. William B. Barry, World War Veteran, suggested that if any changes in the names of streets were to be made the streets should be named in memory of World War Veterans who lost their lives in the Service.
