Fresh in the morn the summer rose Hangs withered ere the noon We scarce enjoy the balmy gift But mourn the pleasure gone.

CAPT WILLIAM SHERMAN, died at sea, Jan. 9, 1796 : aged 32 years Elizabeth Sherman, his wife died Oct. 9, 1849 : aged 83 years, 10 months.
