It probably has the usual cherub or symbol,-if so, it is con- cealed by the iron hood which protects the edges of the stone from water and frost. It is a few feet from a small elm, now (1891) 6 or 8 inches in circumference, at one foot above the ground ; and by its side is a wooden slab, bearing the legend, "The Grave of Edward Gray, June, 1681."]

This Stone is Consecrated To the memory of Mrs. Anna Ripley widow of Mr. Wm. P. Ripley who de- parted this life Aug. 14, 1813, in the 38 year of her age Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord.

[White marble, set in freestone. Cement crumbling away. Stone much inclined; weathering rough.]
NANCY RIPLEY, wife of William P. Ripley, Died Aug. 16, 1862, Aged 83 years.
She trusted in the mercy of the Lord, and now rejoices in his Salvation.

Erected By Mr. Wm. P. Ripley In remembrance of Mrs POLLY RIPLEY his Amiable Wife Who Died May 5th 1808 in the 30th year of her age

White marble, weathering rough. In a semicircle at top are the words:] "Having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ." [Then the inscription : ]
Sacred to the memory of DEA. WILLIAM P. RIP- LEY, who died Nov. 10, 1842 ; aged 67 years. A friend of the oppressed and enslaved.
The poor will cherish his memory. The widow and the fatherles shall call him blessed.
His life was gentle, and serene his mind. His morals pure, his every action just,
A husband dear, and as a parent kind ; As such he lies lamented in the dust, While weeping friends bend o'er the silent tomb, Recount his virtues, and his loss deplore.
Faith's piercing eye darts through the dreary gloom,
And hails him bless'd where tears shall flow no more.
