PARKER. The ancestor of this family was Abraham, who is supposed to have come from Wiltshire, Eng. He first settled in Woburn, where he married Rose Whitlock, 1644; was admitted freeman in 1645; and rem. to Chelmsford, probably upon its incorporation in 1653, with his brothers, Jacob, James and Joseph. His homestead of 24 acres was set off to him in 1662 and was near the middle of Chelmsford. His son, Moses, b. in Chelmsford about the year, 1657; m. Abigail Hildreth, daughter of Richard.


1. Aaron, was the first of the name in Westford, and was the son of Moses, b. 1689. His name is among the orginal members of the first church. He m. Abigail Adams, about, 1712. His house or camp stood on the road leading from Forge Village to Carlisle, on the north side between the old Luther Read place, and the old Farwell place. PRESCOTT. The ancestor of this family was John, who came from Standish, England, landed at Boston, 1640; was for a time at Water- town, but settled at Lancaster, Mass., 1643. He married in England Mary Platts, in 1629, and she came to this country with him. Their son Jonas, b. in Lancaster, 1648; m. Mary Loker, of Sudbury, in 1672, and settled in Groton. He was a blacksmith by trade. He became a large landholder in Groton. "Upon the resettlement of the town after its destruction by the Indians, in 1676, he built mills and a forge for the manufacture of iron from the ore, at Forge Village."


1. Jonas, son of Jonas and Mary (Loker), lived at Forge Village. He m., 1st, Thankful Wheeler, of Concord, 1699.
