REPORT ON TOWN RECORDS.

The work of copying records of vital statistics from the various church records in this town has been continued dur- ing the year and is nearing completion. Any further labor necessary will be rendered free of expense to the town. While these records will supply a great many omissions, our town records are still very meagre so far as entries previous to the year 1844 are concerned, and any efforts on the part of our townspeople to furnish information of a reliable char- acter, tending to supply omissions, will be appreciated. The Town Clerk invites correspondence to this end, and will be pleased to enter family records in a book provided for that purpose. The increasing demand for geneological records is a proof of the value of such records as are con- tained in many old family Bibles, but which have never been entered on the town records, and it is our earnest desire to obtain as many such records as possible.
