The Poor Department.
This is the hardest department we have to deal with. The really needy must not suffer and we must see that the town is not imposed upon. The expenditures for 1905 fell off $410 25 from 1904.
Our Almshouse.
It is gratifying to see this town property make such a good showing. There is a balance about $130 larger than last year, and the average cost per inmate has dropped from $3.25 in 1904 to $2.34 this year.
Largest number supported, 21.
Smallest number, 12.
