As the health of the former Matron of the house necessi- tated the resignation of Mr. and Mrs. Simmons, the Over- seers employed Mr. and Mrs. Torrance of Plymouth, the change proving, in our opinion, no detriment either to the in- terest of the Town, or to the kind care and treatment of the inmates.
The available means mentioned above was cash to Treas- urer. In addition to this there should be credited to Mr. and Mrs. Simmons $10.50, and to Mr. and Mrs. Torrance $8.12 for supplies purchased for the house from the money received for farm sales.
All of which is respectfully submitted,
SAMUEL P. SOULE, ) Overseers J. W. SWIFT, of the HENRY H. LEWIS, S Poor of Duxbury.
We have examined the accounts of the Overseers, and find them correctly cast and properly vouched.
