ANNUAL TOWN MEETING MARCH 7, 1960
Pursuant to a Warrant duly issued, the Annual Town Meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Weymouth, represented by their duly elected and qualified Town Meeting Members, was held in the auditorium of the Weymouth High School on Monday, March 7, 1960.
The Meeting was called to order at 7:45 o'clock in the evening by the Annual Moderator, Mr. Daniel L. O'Donnell.
The Town Clerk, Mr. Harry Christensen, read the call of the Meeting. There were 195 Town Meeting Members present.
Upon motion duly made, it was UNANIMOUSLY VOTED: That the reading of the Articles in the Warrant be suspended.
Prayer for Divine Guidance at this Annual Town Meeting was offered by the Rev. Bernard M. Hoey, Assistant Pastor of Sacred Heart R. C. Church, Weymouth.
There were no Town Meeting Members to be sworn in.
The Moderator declared a quorum present.
The Moderator recognized the presence of a group of students from Newton High School who were present as part of the Student Government Exchange Program sponsored by the State Department of Education.
We now continue with consideration of the Articles in the War- rant.
Upon request by the Appropriation Committee for unanimous consent to consider Article 35 at this time, and there being no objection, the Mod- erator ruled that Article 35 would be considered at this time. The Moder- ator further ruled that Article 35 would be considered item by item.

Of this sum, $389,325.00 is to be provided from current revenue and $55,000.00 from surplus revenue of the Department. $30.000.00 for private work, payment for such work to revert to the General Fund of the Water Department and $25,000.00 for the construction of pipe lines.
Of the sums appropriated, not exceeding $186,653.00 shall be for personal services of the department and no sums shall be transferred to the Accountant's or Treasurer's office for expenses or services rendered to the Water Department.
Of the total appropriation, not more than $150.00 may be used for expenses incurred in travel outside the Commonwealth, in accordance with Section 5, Chapter 40, Clause 34, of the General Laws.
The Board of Public Works is hereby authorized to purchase, dispose of, or replace automotive equipment provided for in funds herein approp- riated.
