ARTICLE 5. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to amend Section 101 of the By-Laws by striking out the word Monday and inserting in place thereof the word Saturday, so as to read as follows:
The Annual Town Meeting of the Town shall be held on the first Saturday of March of each year, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 6. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to amend its By-Laws to control the use of space heaters as follows:
1. The sale, exchange or transfer of a portable space heater as defined in this section, shall be prohibited within this Town on and after July 1, 1961, except for use in buildings under construction.
2. The sale of second hand portable space heaters, as defined in this section, shall be prohibited within this Town on and after July 1, 1961.

SO VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and appropriate, by tax levy, $60,000.00 for Veterans' Benefits as provided by General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 115, for Veteran strike cases only.

ARTICLE 8. (By Request of Park Commission). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to be added to the salaries and wages item of the Park Department recreation budget for the year 1960, or take any other action in relation thereto.

UNANIMOUSLY VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and approp- riate, by tax levy, the sum of $2,886.00 to the salaries and wages item of the Park Department Recreation budget to cover step rate increases under the Salary and Wage Classification Plan of the Town; $800.00 of said sum to be used for the programs for the physically handicapped and the blind; provided that all State aid received under the General Laws of the Commonwealth revert to the Treasury of the Town. $2,886.00
ARTICLE 9. (At Request of Park Commissioners). To see if the Town will vote to allow a regional recreation program for the blind, or take any other action in relation thereto.

Sewerage Pumping Stations, force mains, and intercepting sewers; such funds to be used with whatever Federal aid is available; that the work shall be done under the direction of the Board of Public Works, which shall be authorized to submit an application for Federal participation in the above project, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Upon motion duly made by the Appropriation Committee, it was
UNANIMOUSLY VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and approp- riate the sum of $325,000.00 for the construction and installation of the Wessagusset and Fort Point Sewerage Pumping Stations, force mains, and intercepting sewers; provided Federal aid is made available under approp- riate Federal Laws and that all sums received under said Federal aid shall revert to the Treasury of the Town; and to meet said appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, is hereby authorized to borrow a sum not to exceed $325,000.00, beyond the debt limit, authorized or to be authorized by pending legislation in the Legis- lature, for new construction, and to issue bonds or notes payable in ac- cordance with the General Laws of the Commonwealth in not more than thirty (30) years from their date of issue. Provided further that the work shall be done by private contract under the direction of the Board of Public Works, which shall be authorized to submit an application for Federal participation in the above project. $325,000.00
ARTICLE 12. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote under the provisions of General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chapter 82, Sec- tion 21, to discontinue as a public way the following described portion of Union Street:
"That portion of Union Street, being 60 feet in width, from the South- easterly corner of property, now or formerly of Jerry E. and Edith W. Tulip, Southeasterly One Hundred Thirty-nine and 90/100 (139.90) feet to the Weymouth-Rockland line."

SO VOTED: That the Town vote to discontinue as a public way the above described portion of Union Street.
