Exercises in Reading, Spelling, Writing, Morals and Manners, Vocal and Physical Culture. Declamation and Composition, through the entire course ; a commercial course in Book-Keeping extending through the Second and Junior years of the English Course : and French and elective study during the Senior year.
Students unable or not desirous of completing either full course, may enter the school at the commencement of any term. in addition to the regular annual promotion from the several Grammar Depart- ments ; but will be expected to recite in the regular classes. and pur- sue only such studies as their qualifications admit.
Pupils wishing to enter the High School, must first apply to, and be examined by. the School Committee ; and those absent from regu- lar Written Examinations at the close of the terms, must pass those examinations satisfactorily before again joining their classes.
The Classical Department is fully up to the standard of uncon- ditional admission to College. In this department students MUST take Geography, Physical Geography and U. S. History with the English classes during the First and Second years, and are advised to take the Histories of Greece, Rome and England in the Junior and Senior years.

The Selectmen and the Overseers of the Poor of the Town of Scituate respectfully submit the following report, showing the receipts and expenditures of the Town from February 1, 1881, to February 1, 1882, and its financial condition at the last named date.
