FIFTEENTH ANNUAL REPORT OF THE
TRUSTEES OF THE TAFT PUBLIC LIBRARY.
The Trustees submit the following report. They have but little to add to the report of the Librarian submitted herewith. The books were examined on Feb. 5th, current, and the library re-opened on Feb. 8th. The books were all accounted for, and found in satisfactory condition. It was found practicable to get along one year more without additional shelving, and the part of the last annual appropriation intended for that purpose was not expended, but it will hardly be possible to defer the putting in of such shelves for another year.
The Trustees have tried, for a few weeks, the experiment of opening the Library on Wednesday afternoons in addition to Saturday afternoon and evening, but so little use was made of this additional opportunity to use the Library that the Wednesday opening has been abandoned.
The Trustees consider themselves fortunate in securing for the ensuing year the services of Mrs. Sara F. Towne, the efficient Librarian of the past four years. Two copies of the Annals of Mendon have been sold the past year, and one copy exchanged for a town history.
The thanks of the citizens of Mendon are tendered to all who have contributed books, magazines or literature of any kind to the Library the past year.
The Trustees recommend the appropriation of one hundred and seventy-five dollars for the use of the Library the ensuing year.
JULIUS A. GEORGE, HENRY W. GASKILL, HORACE C. ADAMS, ERWIN A. SNOW,
Trustees of Taft Public Library.
