That the by-laws of the Town be and hereby are amended by inserting in Article 1, a new section to be known as Section 2A, to read as follows :-
Section 2A. A record of the attendance of Town Meeting Members at all representative Town Meetings shall be made under the direction of the Town Clerk, said record to be available to the public for three years from the date of each meeting.
Mr. Elliott Barker offered the following amendment:
"to strike out the words 'for three years from the date of each meeting'!"
On being put to a vote, the Moderator declared the motion carried.
Thereupon, on motion duly made and seconded it was unanimously

Voted: That the action of the Board of Public Works in the sale of one (1) 1938 International 2-3 Ton Chassis owned by the Town and in use by the Board of Public Works, all in connection with the purchase of one (1) 1948 Ford 2 Ton Chassis for the use of said Board, be and hereby is ratified, approved and confirmed.

Article 12 taken up. (Sale of Plow.)

Voted: That the Board of Public Works be and hereby is authorized on behalf of the Town to sell and convey one (1) No. 4423 Sargent full hydraulic model V plow with wings, now owned by the Town and under control of the Board of Public Works, upon such terms and conditions as they shall deem for the best interest of the Town.

Article 13 taken up. (Transfer of Mount Pleasant Cemetery Funds.)

Voted: That the sum of one thousand ($1,000) dollars be and hereby is appropriated for the acquisition by purchase, of cemetery lots; and that said sum be taken from (Mount Pleasant Cemetery) Sale of Lots and Graves Funds and ex- pended under the direction of the Board of Cemetery Com- missioners.

Voted: That the sum of Six Hundred Fifty ($650) Dollars be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of installing overhead doors on garage in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery ; said sum to be taken from available funds now in the Treasury and expended under the direction of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners.

Article 15 taken up. (Acceptance of General Laws-Open- Air Parking Spaces.

Article 17 taken up. (Appointment of Committee-Site for a Fire Station in East Arlington.)
The Finance Committee recommended the following :
That the Moderator be and hereby is instructed to appoint a committee of five for the purpose of investigating, consider- ing and making recommendations for the purchase, taking by right of eminent domain or otherwise of a suitable site for a fire station in that part of Arlington known as East Arling- ton; said committee to report its recommendations to the Town at the next Special Town Meeting, if any, but not later than the Annual Town Meeting of 1949; and that the sum of

one hundred ($100) dollars be and hereby is appropriated for the necessary expenses to be incurred by said committee ; said sum to be taken from available funds now in the Treasury.

Voted : That the School Committee be and hereby is author- ized to investigate, select and recommend a suitable site or sites for a new school building within the boundaries of the present Brackett and Locke School districts, said School Com- mittee to report is recommendations to the Town at the next Special Town Meeting, if any, but not later than the Annual Town Meeting of 1949.

Report of Board of Registrars of Voters
Honorable Board of Selectmen Arlington, Mass.
Gentlemen :
We beg to submit our report for the year 1948 :
On January 1st, the Board appointed Assistant Registrars to take a census of all persons in the Town twenty years of age and over. The list was duly prepared and printed accord- ing to law.
During the year the Board held nineteen evening registra- tions, at which time 3144 persons qualified to appear on the voting list.
Throughout the year, during regular business hours, 1487 persons were registered as voters by the Town Clerk's Depart- ment. The total number of persons registered during the year was 4631.
Below is a list showing a total of 24,799 registered voters in the fourteen precincts as of October 1, 1948.
