VOTED: That the Board of Selectmen be and hereby is au- thorized and empowered on behalf of the Town, to purchase or take by eminent domain or otherwise acquire, easements in land adjoin- ing the location of ways, the laying out of which is accepted at this meeting, consisting of the right to have the land of said location pro- tected by having the surface of such adjoining land slope from the boundaries of such locations; that for this purpose the sum of eight hundred (800) dollars be and hereby is appropriated; said sum to be raised by general tax and expended under the direction of the Town Manager.

Article 61. (Alterations - Russell Street. )
VOTED : (Unanimously) That the alteration of the way known as Russell Street, on the northwesterly corner at Mystic Street and on the southeasterly corner of Water Street, substantially in the location as made and reported by the Board of Selectmen, in their capacity as a Board of Survey, and as more particularly described in Article 61 of the Warrant be accepted and said way as altered be established and used under the provisions of law as a public way; and that the sum of $2,600.00, to be raised by general tax, be and hereby is appropriated for the construction and alteration of said way to be expended under the direction of the Town Manager.

Article 62. (Purchase or Acceptance - Railroad Avenue. )
VOTED: (Unanimously) That the Board of Selectmen be and hereby is authorized and empowered on behalf of the Town to pur- chase or take in fee by eminent domain, accept as a gift, or other- wise acquire for municipal purposes all or any portion of the land hereinafter described, any interest or easement therein, and any rights or easements of way or otherwise as appurtenant thereto and subject to or with any reservations of any rights or easements there- in. Said parcel of land being bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a stone bound on the northeasterly side line of Massachusetts Avenue at the division line between land of Bos- ton & Maine Railroad and the Town of Arlington, thence north- erly 43 degrees, 15 minutes east, by land of Town of Arlington a distance of 40.0 feet to an angle point, thence northerly 4 degrees, 27 minutes, 26 seconds west, by land of Town of Arling- ton a distance of 89.22 feet to an angle point, thence northerly 46 degrees, 45 minutes west by land of Town of Arlington and land now or formerly of David A. Wilcox et al a distance of 114.10 feet to an angle point, thence southerly 42 degrees, 45 minutes west by land now or formerly of David A. That for the purpose of such purchase, taking or acquisition, the sum of three hundred ($300.00) dollars be and hereby is appropri- ated; said sum to be raised by general tax and expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen and the Town Manager.
