Special Town meeting


at a Special meeting of The Inhabitants of the Town of Boxford qualified to vole in Town elections and in Town affairs held in Boxford Town Hall Boxford On Tuesday Delober 5-1948 at 8 p. M. Oclock the following record was made. meeting Called to order by moderator William of Freenter fr. Due to the absence of a clergyman he asked all to join in silent prayer.

Noted - to appropriate from Surplus Revenue the sum of $11,000,000 to meet the State and County allotments under Chapter 90 construction done In anticipation of reimbursement, said money when reimbursed to be credited to Surplus Revenue.

Resolved- to send the 7th + 8 th grades to andover Junior High begining next year, 60 yes 10 to.


a letter received by the Selectmen from the Regional High School Committee of Topsfield- Concerning a Regional High School was read.


Mr Johnson, Superintendent of Schools was given unamious consent to speak to the meeting and express his views and ideas on the report that had previously been presented: ( a copy of the report on file)


Resolved - to instruct the School Committee to bring in recommendations at the next town meeting of any re-arrangement of the six remaining grades; Ilso that the School Committee and Board of Selectmen be instructed to Confer with the Regional High School Committee og Topsfield and bring in a report at the next annual Town meeting


Resolved- to arrange to pick up the children in Outlying districts, and from each Village of their assigned grades are in the other village, and transport them to one or the other of the two existing School buildings as required to maintain The kindergarten Indi grades 1 and 2 in One buildings and grades 3 through 6 in the other 50 yes - 5 hs
