PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Trustees of the Public Library submit their annual report.

We have not been able during the past year to put as many new books into the library as usual owing to the fact that we had so many of the popular older books which were badly worn and which were sent away for rebinding.

The chimney on the library was struck by lightning during the summer doing considerable damage to it as well as the wood work in the main hall, basement and the side of building.

The furnace smoke pipe has been renewed during the past year.

The Trustees would greatly appreciate it if the people into whose homes library books or magazines go would see that they receive proper care. Some of the books and papers show signs of rather hard usage.
