ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT, 1930
Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Barnstable, ss.
To Harvey T. Moore, Constable of the Town of Eastham, in the County aforesaid, Greeting :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Masachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, to meet in the Town Hall in said Eastham, on Monday, the third day of February next, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles :-
Article 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
Article 2. To hear the reports of the Selectmen and all reports and committees and act thereon.
Article 3. To choose all necessary Town Officers for the ensuing year.
Article 4. To see if the town will elect a Town Direc- tor for the Cape Cod Extension Service.

Article 5. To see what sum of money the Town will raise for the Public Library and make an appropriation for the same.
Article 6. To see in what manner the Town will dis- pose of its refunded dog tax, and act thereon.
Article 7. To see in what manner the Town will sup- port its poor for the ensuing year.
Article 8. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $3,075 provided the State makes a satisfactory allotment for the upkeep and maintenance of town roads, under Chap- ter 81, Sections 26-29 General Laws, as amended.
Article 9. To see in what manner the Town will re- pair its roads and bridges and appropriate money for the same.
Article 10. To see if the Town will give the Collector of Taxes the same power the Treasurer has when Collector.
Article 11. To raise such sums of money as may be ne- cessary to defray town charges for the ensuing year.
Article 12. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money in anticipation of revenue of the municipal year be- ginning January 1, 1930, an amount not to exceed $16,000.
Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for Memorial Day and the purchase of flags for Soldiers' and Sailors' graves and Monument Grounds.

Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to petition for the installation of an accounting system by the Common- wealth, Chapter 516, Acts of 1922.
Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for forest fire protection.
Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $500. for the purpose of continuing the plotting, surveying and making of Assessors' Maps of the Town of Eastham.
Article. 17. To see if the Town will vote to pay a bounty of $1.00 each for all woodchucks killed within its limits for the ensuing year and appropriate the sum of fifty dollars for same or do or act anything thereon. (By Re- quest) .
Article 18. To see if the Town will vote to correct the spelling of the name of Alfred L. Gill on the World War Memorial and appropriate a sum of money for the same, or do or act thereon. (By Request).
Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to give the John R. Mckay Post, American Legion, the use of the Town Hall free of charge, one night each month for the ensuing year, or do or act anything thereon. (By Request).
Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to indemnify the Commonwealth of Massachusetts against any and all claims for land, grade and drainage damages which may be caused by or result from the laying out, alteration, construc- tion or reconstruction of the State Highway known as the Kings Highway or any section or relocation thereof, and

will authorize the Board of Selectmen to sign an indemnity agreement therefor in behalf of the Town, and make an ap- propriation therefor, or take any other action with respect thereto.
Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum not to exceed Five Hundred (500.00) Dollars to be paid to the Cape Cod Hospital for the estab- lishment and maintenance of a free bed in the hospital for the care and treatment of persons certified by the Selectmen to be residents of the town and unable to pay for such care and treatment, in accordance with Section 74, of Chapter 3 of the General Laws, or take any action in relation thereto, and act fully thereon.
Article 22. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the eradication of mosquit- oes, the same to be spent under Chap. 252 of the General Laws as amended by Chap. 457, Acts of 1923, and subsequent amendments, especially Chap. 288 of the Acts of 1929.
Article 23. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of purchasing and erecting a flag pole on the Town Hall Grounds. (By Re- quest.)
Article 24. To see if the town will vote to accept the road as relocated and surveyed, running from the Old Mill northerly near the home of Rose B. Nickerson.
Article 25. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the extension of the road mentioned in Article 24, and a survey of the same, or do or act anything thereon.

Article 26. To see if the town will vote to accept the layout of the road as surveyed through the land of Town. send, Horton and Higgins.
Article 27. To see if the town will vote to accept a road running westerly from the State Highway near the home of George P. Brackett, to the road leading past Brack. ett's Store.
Article 28. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the repairs of the Old Grist Mill as recommended by the committee, or do or act any- thing thereon.
Article 29. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the protection and police- ing of the shellfish industry, or do or act anything theron.
Article 30. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of defraying the expense of Special Legislation.
Article 31. To see if the town will vote to take $5,000.00 of the free cash from the Treasury and use the same for the reduction of the tax lexy of 1930.
And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting attested copies thereof at the Blacksmith Shop of Charles A. Feltis in South Eastham, the Post Office in Eastham and the Post Office at North Eastham, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.
