The Library is open on Wednesdays from 2.30 to 4.30 and 7 to 8.
The total circulation since the library was opened, August 18th, has been 962, 809 fiction and 153 non-fiction, an aver- age of 40 volumes per week, nearly 10% of the total number of volumes in the library, 450.
While our library has the distinction of being the smallest one in the state, it probably has the largest proportion of its books in circulation.
We desire to acknowledge our indebtedness to the State Library Commission for their generous donations of books and their active interest through which we have received
88
SEVENTY-FIRST ANNUAL REPORT
donations from the A. L. A., and the libraries of Everett, Haverhill, West Newton, New Braintree and Lincoln; to the Women's Educational Association for a loan collection; to the James library for its weekly loans; to the various in- dividuals who have given money, books, stove and labor in fitting the building; to Mrs. Pauline W. Leonard, who gives her services as librarian, and to those who have assisted both at the library and in thansporting books from the James Library.
The patronage of our library is an indication that it is a decided stimultis to our community life and as such it merits the continued support of the town.
