To all People to whom these Presents shall come Greet- ing Know ye that I Richard Downing of New- Downing To ington in the Province of New Hampshire in New England Yeoman for & in Consideration Woodman of the Sum of Seventy Pounds currant Money of the Province aforesd to me in Hand paid & secured to be paid by my welbeloved Brother-in-Law Mr Jonathan Woodman of Oyster River in the Township of Dover in the Province aforesd the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge & my self therewith fully satisfied con- tented & paid & thereof & of every Part & Parcel thereof do exonerate aequit & discharge him the sd Jonathan Wood- man his Heirs Excers & Admin's for ever by these Presents have given granted sold conveyed & confirmed & by these Present do fully freely & absolutely give grant sell convey & confirm unto him the sd Jonathan Woodman his Heirs & Assigns for ever all that my Right Title & Interest to a cer- tain Tract or Parcel of Land viz Upland Meadow or Marsh bought of my Hond Father in Law Mr Joshua Downing late of Kittery Decd & in Partnership with my Brothers in Law MI Jonathan Woodman aforest & M' Jonathan Mendam late of Kittery in the Province of Mayne in New England aforest Deed said Lands Meadow or Marsh being situate at a cer- tain Place called or known by the Name of Sturgeon Creek in Partnership with Mr Leighton of Kittery aforesd let sd Land & Marsh contain for Quantity more or less it being all that my Part of Purchase of my aforest Hond Father in Law M' Joshua Downing & bares Date the 20th Day of May 1717 as may appear of Record To have and to hold the sd granted & bargained Premisses with all & every the Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s" Jonathan Woodman his Heirs & Assigns for ever & to their own proper Use Benefit & Behoofe for ever And I sd Richard Downing for me my Heirs Excers Admin's do eove- nant promise & grant to & with the said Jona Woodman his Heirs & Assigns that before the Ensealing hereof I am the true & lawful owner of the aforesd Premisses as may appear by aforest Conveyance from my Hond Father-in Law aforesa And have in my self good Right full Power & lawful Au- thority to sell convey & confirm the sa bargained Premisses in Manner as aforest And that the sd Jonathan Woodman his Heirs & Assigns shall & may from Time to Time & at all Times for ever hereafter by Force & Virtue of these Presents have hold use occupie possess & enjoy the sd de- mised Premisses with the Appurces free & clear & freely & clearly acquitted of & from all & all [110] Manner of form- er or other Gifts Grants Bargains Sales or other Incum-
