For over fifty years there bas been a private graveyard known as the Fol- bright cemetery la the western limita of the city. It was just behind the Dingeldela brewery and close to the Memphis shops. The Jordan passes right by it and its location is one of the landmarks of the city. It is now .
thing of the past and the bones of those buried there were yesterday moved to Hazelwood cemetery. Col. Marion Weaver, who is con-
Lected with the Fulbright family. went to the graveyard yesterday with a force of meu and began taking up the re- mains. There were about twenty graves in all. In most of them only a few bones were found. Teeth and jewelry were also wucarthed. The bones were placed in aww wwlen box and carried to Hazelwood where they were again buried.
The toombstones showed very great age and some were almost impossible to read. The oldeat grare was proba- bly one which bore an indistinct date of 1435. Eli Fulbright was buried there August 16. 1-39. W. W Ful- brigh: was buried in 1:43 und Dr. S. M. Henderson about the same time. En. Bon Fulbright was lald at reusin this little cemetery la 1852. Rutha Fpl- bright was probably the last person buried there. The stone over her grave bore date of 1874 end Donc later was noticed.
The removal was caused by the Memphis railroad company which will probably purchase .the land, as its rep- resentatives have been holding confer .. ences with. Col. Weaver in regard to parelinsing it of late and offered' to remove the graves at its expense
