She leaves her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Oweda Clawson and Gladys Mace, and one son, Stanley Harvey.

Oct. 23, 1948 - Death of William Benton Shiflet. Born October 13, 1862, near Eversonville, the son of A. H. and Jane Pearmon Shiflet - oldest of eight. Married Mary C. Tharp on December 28, 1887. Member of Parson Creek Presbyterian Church at age 18 later Methodist Church in Wheeling. Survivors are his wife, 2 children, Mrs. George W. Pitts and Herman W. Shiflet, 2 brothers, W. A. Shiflet and I. J. Shiflet, 3 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Burial in Wheeling Cemetery .

Surviving are five brothers, Fred, Will, Otto, Louis and Edd, three sisters, Lizzie and Mary Pahmeyer and Mrs. W. L. Campbell, one sister, Mrs. Henry Telaneus preceded her in death. Burial in

Member of Modern Wood Lodge and Wheeling Baptist Church where services were held by Rev. Lloyd E. Morgan. Burial in Wheeling Cemetery. Survived by his wife and one grand-daughter, Charlene.

Married Miss Beulah E. Waite at Chillicothe, Aug. 11, 1918, who survives with 2 daughter Mrs. Robert (Irene) Goss, and Mrs. L. E. (Adalee) Woolen and 2 grandchildren. Member of Christian Church. Sept.14, 1953 - John Iberg passed away after a long illness. He married Ethel Goodman in 1930. They lived on a farm near Linneus until 1952 when they moved to Wheeling. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Lula Maud, who married Wm. Gross and have two sons. Mr. Iberg's funeral was at the Baptist Church in Eversonville. Burial in Parson Creek Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Fula and two daugh- ters, Evelyn, who is a teacher in the school, Mrs. Tom Brown ( Francis) Huntsville, Ala., and one son, Charles of Phoenix, Ariz. Several grandchildren.

1958 - Merle DeWitt Beckwith, 47 dies. He is survived by his wife, Myra J. and daughter, Miss Barbara Beckwith. He grew to manhood in the Wheeling Community.
Mar. 19, 1958 - Harold H. Butterfield, prominent business man in Wheel- ing died at K.C. Hospital. Since 1936 he has been in Wheeling and associated with the Elevator. He was born Nov. 24, 1891, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Butterfield. Survived by his widow, Anna Lou, a daughter, Mrs. A. H. Westwood, three sons, Harold L., Gene F., and Byron. Services held at Ist Baptist Church at Chillicothe, conducted by Rev. Speaker, burial in Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe.
Aug. 29, 1958 - Rudolph J. Jordan dead. Married Coral Mae Goff, daugh- ter of Charles and Margaret (Brier) Goff, Nov. 10, 1931. Burial in Wheeling Cemetery.
Nov. 15, 1958 - Death of Frank C. Tompkins. Born March 15, 1886 at Central City, Mo. Moved to Wheeling in 1904. Married Ethel Ann Harris. Member of Modern Woodman and Royal Neighbors and Wheeling Baptist Church, where services were held. Survived by wife, one daughter, Mildred Louise - now Mrs. Bill Kaye and one son, Stanley Harris Tompkins, and five grandchildren. Burial in Wheeling Cemetery.
Nov. 15, 1958 - Death of Christian Love, son of Charles and Rachael Houseman Love. Born Dec. 13, 1868 at Jefferson, Ia. Came to Wheeling 1907. Married Elizabeth Kirby Dec. 22, 1897, at Ethel, Mo. Survived by wife, two sons, Alfred and Jack.
Dec. 1958 - Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth (Bird) Norman, widow of the late Albert E. Norman, died at the Chillicothe Hospital. She was born North of Wheeling March 22, 1869, daughter of Harrison and Lydia (Herriman) Bird. Moved to Browning for a short time, but came back in 1899 and remained until 1918 when they moved to Chillicothe. is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Willis Wolfe, Mrs. Joe Ralston, a son, Leon Norman, a sister, Mrs. Laura Logan, several grand-children and 14 great grand- children. Husband died April 16, 1951. Services at Wheeling Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Rolens, burial in Wheeling Cemetery.

Was member of Modern Woodman and Methodist Church, where services were held. Burial in Wheeling Cemetery. One son, Herbert H. Jones and one grandchild survive.

Dec. 20, 1959 - Miss Neva Jane Tompkins, 59, former Missouri teacher dies in Calif. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mollie Tompkins, two sisters, Mrs. Fay Butler and Mrs W. F. Figg and an Aunt, Miss Lucy Tompkins. Services conducted by Rev. Winn, burial in Wheeling Cemetery.

She is survived by her mother, two bro- thers, Willie Ray and Lloyd Robert and her grandmother, Mrs. Minnie Howe. Services were held at the Wheeling Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Holman, burial in Wheeling Cemetery.
