I. THE Calculations of this Almanac are made to folar or apparent time; to which, for the mean or clock- time, apply the equation in the fifth column, adding when the Sun is flow, and subtracting when faft.


II. The time of high water at New-York, is fo com- puted. as to ferve cither for morning or afternoon, fuf- ficiently near for common ufe ; the morning flood being about 12 minutes earlier than the time in the tide co- lumn, and that in the afternoon as much later. The
