A funeral service was beld at the Skylawn Memorial Park Chapel in Milbras, California for Floyd O. Mc Lamore of Wofford Heights. Of- ficlating was W. Melvin Hetrick. Mr. Mc Lemore passed away May 21 at the Kern Valley hospital, Mt. Mesa.


He is survived by his wife Cleo of Watford Heights, son, Oliver "Dell" Mc Lemore of San Ramon, Callfor- nia; granddaughter Cathryn Mc Lamore of San Ramon; brother Jirl Mc Lemore of Carnegie, Okinhoma.


Mr. Mc Lamore was a Mason for 33 years and was a past master and member of Amity Lodge No. 370 of San Francisco. He was retired trom 38 years with the Pacific Telephone Company.

DONNA JEAN BRADSHAW


A funeral service was held Tuesday June 1 at Valley Mortuary Chapel, Lake Isabella for Donna J. Bradshaw of Lake Isabella.


Officiating was Reverend Edward A. Rutherford, Pastor of the Cerritos Assembly of God Church assisted by Pastor George W. Flattery of the Assembly of God Church, Wofford Heights.


Mrs. Bradshaw passed away May 27 at Bakersfield Community hospital in Oildale. She is survived by her husband Bill Bradshaw of Lake Isabella; mother Mary Brockhaus of Bodfish; son David L. Colvin of California; brother John A. Brockhaus of Santa Maria; sister Carolee Shaw of Ludington, Michigan and two grandchildren. Donna was a member of the Wofford Heights Assembly of God Church. Born May 12, 1930 in Ludington, Mason County, Michigan, Donna Jean Bradshaw was 52 years of age. Inter- ment at the Kern River Valley Cemetery. Arrangements by Valley Mortuary.

Lester E. Teetor, 66, of South Lake Estates died on May 26, 1962. Teetor was born October 26, 1915 and Las sur- vived by his wife, Evelyn; son, John and grandaughter, Tammy Jo. Teetor was a resident of South Lake for the past 11 years and was retired from Schlitz.

Eugene Phillips


A funeral service was held at the Valley Mortuary Chapel, Lake Isabella for Gene Phillips of Lake Isabella on June 10. Officiating were officers and chaplain of Post 7665 KRV Veterans of Foreign Wars.


Mr. Phillips passed away June 8 at the Wadsworth Veterana Ad- ministration Medical Center, Los Angeles.


He is survived by his wife Mary of Lake Isabella; son and daughter-in- law Robert and Rosemary Wakeman of Los Angeles; daughter and son-in- law Betty and John Link of Long Beach; brother Lawrence Phillips of Florida; and four grandchildren.


Gene Phillips was a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army Quartermaster Cor- ps and a member of VFW Post 7686.


Born December 3, 1921 in Peoria, Illinois Eugene Phillips was 60 years of age.

Jane Kenyon Paul


Jane K. Paul of Weldon passed away at Kern Valley Hospital, Mt. Masa on June 2. She is preceeded in death by her husband Ralph W. Paul deceased in 1981.


She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Darlene Fisher of Weldon; son Arthur D. Fisher also of Weldon; five gran- dchildren and


two great- grandchildren.


Mrs. Paul was a captain of the Red Cross during WW II and was a founder of the Long Beach Red Cross Gray Ladies. In 1982 she was honored by the Midway City Women's Cub as Woman of the Year. Mrs. Paul had been ac- tive in the South Fork Women's Club, KRV React, Senior Citizen's Advisory Council, and past secretary of the KRV AARP.


Born February 10, 1902 in Liverpool, England, Jane K. Paul was 80 years of age. Donations may be made to the Kern River Valley hospital equipment fund in the name of Jane K. Paul.

Jessie L. Beresy of Squirrel Valley passed away June 5 at the Kern Valley Hospital, Mt. Mess.


Jessla Beresy is proceeded in death by her husband Joseph Beraay deceased In August, 1981.


She is survived by her daughter Penny Jones of Modesto and gran- ddaughter Sharron Jones of Siml Valley.

Frank O. Ketten of Kernville passed away during the night of June 5, the victim of a highway accident in Kern Canyon.

Grant M. Beckwith passed away at his residence on the morning of June 6 In Lake Isabella.


Funeral services were bold graveside at the Kern River Valley cemetery, Wodford Heights June 10. Officiating was Reverend Linda D. Inlow, Pastor of the Highland Chapel United Methodlat Church, Lake Isabella.


Mr. Beckwith is preceeded in death by his wife Nita Beckwith deceased In February 1980. He is survived by his cousins Mr. and Mrs. Roger Beckwith of La Mirada.


Born February 6, 1897 in Kent, Ohio Grant Beckwith was 86 years of age.

Harold "Hank" Inskeep


Hank Inskeep, 64, of Hesperia died June 8, 1982 In Apple Valley. Inskeep was born April 7, 1918 in Columbus, Ohio and was a retired machinist. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and the Vic- tor Valley Radio Club. He was the fire commissioner of Hesperia for 16 years.


Inskeep is survived by his wife Mary of Hesperia; two brothers, William Inskeep of Kernville and Dan Inskeep of Marion, Ohio; four sisters, Martha Farber of Del Rey Beach, Florida, Virginia Dutcher of Hideaway Hills, Ohio, Josephine Durkee of Searchlight, Nevada and


Bernadine Martinez of Jean, Nevada; two sons, J. F. Myers of Lawrence, Kansas and Roger Myers of Paim Springa, California. Also one daughter, Farida McMasters of On- tario, CA; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Daniel Harrison


A graveside funeral service was held Tuesday June 15 at the Kern River Valley Cemetery for Daniel Harrison of Wofford Heights. Of- ficlating was the Kern River Valley Veterans council. Prayers and eulogy were delivered by Luther Hopkins commander of VFW Post 7665 and Jess Wright Chaplain of DAV chapter 54.


Mr. Harrison passed away May 29 at Kern Medical Center, Bakersfield. Daniel Harrison is survived by his brother Lewis Harrison of Kingston, Pennsylvania. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW 11 and served during the Korean war with the USAF.


Born Janury 4, 1914 in Edwar- daville, Luzerne County, Pen- nsylvania, Danile Harrison was sixty eight years of age. Arrangements by Valley Mortuary.

Mrs. Payne passed away June 16 at Mercy hospital in Bakersfield. She is proceeded in death by her husband Ry Payne deceased in 1980.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Wofford Heights June 23 for Teresa M. Woods on Onyx. Officiating was Reverend Monsignor Dents J. Doherty, Pastor.


Mrs. Woods passed away June 19 in North Hollywood. She is preceeded in death by her husband Leroy Woods deceased in 1961.


She is survived by ber daughter Teresa M. "Dolly" Watson on Onyx and grandson Charles "Sonny" Wat- son of Van Nuys.

Barbara Rae Cato


A memorial service was held at the Valley Mortuary Chapel on Monday, June 28, for Barbara R. Cato of Powers Tract, Weldon. Officiating was Pastor George Flattery of the Assembly of God Church, Wotford Heighta.


Barbara Cato passed away at the Kern Valley Hospital June 25. She was a student at Kern Valley High School and is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. George A. Cato of Weldon; brothers Roy, Ray and Richard of Ar. cadia; brothers George and Duke of Tooele, Utah; sisters Judy of Weldon, Paulette Peterman of Oregon and Kathy Covington of Butte, Montana.


Born September 3, 1985, in Wallace, Idaho, Barbara Rae Cato was 16 years of age. Cremation arrangements by Valley Mortuary.


Lorena May Hipes


Gravealde service will be held Thursday, July 8 at 2 p.m. for Lorena Hipes, longtime resident of Kernville. Mrs. Hipes passed away July 12 at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.


Lorena Hipes was a 50-year resident of old and new Kernville. Though she and her late husband, Clifford never had children of their own, they reared with loving care some 23 neglected or abandoned children of others. She claimed to have 53 "grandchildren" at the time of her death.


Born Lorena May Ladd on Decem- ber 31, 1894, in Santa Barbara, Mrs. Hipes was 88 years of age.


Up until a few months ago, when she became too ill to live alone, she resided in a small white cottage at the end of Burlando Road. It is the same house she and her husband occupied in Old Kernville.


Mrs. Hipes rode in the house when it was moved from its old site to its present location. Their house was one of the first houses in the area on Burlando Road.


Here she welcomed all children of the neighborhood who came to hear her read from her beloved Bible or to hear her play the plano, which the played by ear. She loved the old byro- ns but also lively music.


In earlier days of Kernville's Methodist Church, she organized and conducted both & childrens and adult choir. .


Her husband who died 18 years ago and Is buried In the Ploneers Cemetery, where Lorena will rest beside him.


She is survived by her sister Mabel Olson of Temple City and many nieces and nephews in California.

Fern Paris


Fern Paris passed away June 26 at Memorial Hospital, Bakersfield, following a long illness.


Fern is survived by her husband, Henry of Bodfish; one daughter Nola Swatek, Alta Loma; a grandson, Craig of Alta Loma and a gran- ddaughter Cheryl Schweak of Pen- nsbury, Pennsylvania.


Born November 9, 1911 in Montana, Fern was 70 years of age. She bad been a resident of Bodfish for the past 13 years.


Albert Alfred Mouw


Albert Alfred Mouw, 70, died recently after a long illness. A resident of Bodfish, he was a native of Orange City, Iowa.


He is survived by a son Darrell, of Saugus; a daughter, Mary White of Idaho; four slaters, Arta Baler of Iowa; Bertha Roetman of Long Beach; Leona Mouw of Iowa and Hermine Douma of Missouri; two brothers, Harry and Peter Mouw both of Iowa and four grandchildren.


He was preceeded in death by bis wife, Nellle, in August, 1981, his parents, one son and a alster.


Funeral services were held at Chapel of the Oaks with Rev. Al Rhoades-Wickett officiating. Inter. ment was at Eternal Valley Memorial Park.

Lloyd Edward Keiser


Memorial services will be beld Sun- day July 18 at 2 p.m. at Weldon Methodist Church for Lloyd Edward Keiser who died July 5.


Born December 1, 1890, Mr. Keiser Lived in Mt. Mesa the past six years. He was a member of the Masonic Or- der for 62 years, and a member of the Easter Star for over 30 years.


Lloyd Keiser is survived by bis wife of 67 years, F. Rutb and two daughters Venette LaFrance of Weldon and Eunice Corn of Squirrel Valley.


Mr. Keiser leaves behind elght grandchildren Michael LaFrance, San Jose; Dennis La France and Dana LaFrance of Kernville; Linds McCoy, Juniper Hills; Renee LaFrance, Weldon; Sandra Terea, Burlingame; Steven Corn, Manhatr. ttan Beach; Tina Crouse, Garden Grove, and nine great grandchildren.


The Neptunian Society will scatter Mr. Kaiser's asbes over the Angeles National Forest. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society through the Eastern Star.

Thomas Z. Varney passed away July 7 at the Kern Valley Hospital, Mt. Mesa. Mr. Varney was a resident of Bodtinh.


He is survived by his wife Ivalo of Bodfish, sons Thomas H. Varney of Vienna, Virginia, Richard Varney with the United States Air Force in New Mexico and seven gran- dchildren.


Mr. Varney was retired from United Airlines where be served uu manager of Aircraft Inspection, Born May 13,1916 in Lancaster, New Ham. pentry, Thomas Calmo Varney #14 8 years of age.

Mr. Downey is survived by bis wife Kathleen of Lake Isabella; son Joba F. Downey, Jr. of Los Angeles; daughters Mary Lou Gregg of Van Nuys; Helenka McClure of Van Nuys and four grandchildren.


Between WW I and WW II Mr. Downey served in three branches of the military. Army, Navy and Marines. He was a member of KRV Moose Lodge No. 490 and KRV Elles Lodge No. 2358.


Born May 24, 1911 in Central Fall, Rhode Island, Jack F. Downey was 71 years of age.

Dennis R. Mattia of Lake Isabella passed away on the morning of July 13 at the Kern Valley Hospital Mt. Mosa. He is survived by his wife Sherri of Lake Isabella; parents Richard Lod Barbara Di Mattia of Westminster; daughter Angi and son Dougde both of Lake Lsabella; brother Jim Di Mattia of Plover, Wisconsin and sister Gayle Strom of Huntington Beach.

Charles W. Houser of Lake Isabella passed away July 7, at the Kern Valley Hospital, Mt. Mesa. He is proceeded in death by his wife Grace H. Houser deceased In 1962.


He is survived by his sister-in-law Lucille Martone of Rochester, Now York; nieces Jean Kite of Mesa, Arizona; Helen Lants of Urbana, Oblo; Carmel Martone and Martha Kelsey both of Rochester, New York. Born September 30, 1903 in Urbana, Oblo Charles Wlant Houser was 79 years of age.

A graveside funeral service was beld July 12 at the Kern River Valley cemetery for Barrett Freels of Ker- nville. Mr. Freeis passed away July 10 at the San Joaquin Community Hospital, Bakersfield.


He is survived by his mother Mrs. Minnie L. Garrison of Lancaster; brother Lawrence Freels also of Lan- caster; daughter Diana Marks of Kernville; son Robert B. Freals of San Diego and three grandchildren. Mr. Freels was a retired Army Master Sergeant who served in both WW II and Korea.


He was a member of VFW Post 7665 and the Kern River Valley C.B. Club.


Born October 14, 1916 in Kentucky, Barrett Freels was 86 years of age.

Burt Henry Manning of Lake Isabella passed away at his bome, July 2.


He is survived by his wife, Irene Manning, one son Donald Manning of Pacifica, Ca., three grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.


Burt moved to Lake Isabella in 1962, where be owned and operated a bar- ber shop for eight years. After retirement he enjoyed growing beautiful flowers which be loved to share.


Born in Canton So. Dekota in 1902, he was 79 years old.

Mr. Taylor passed away July 18 in Bakersfield.


He is survived by his wife Mona of Mt. Mess; mother Asse Taylor of Long Beach; daughters Susie of Bakersfield; Deedee of San Francisco and sister Jeanette Wunderlich of Garden Grove.


Mr. Taylor was opportunity teacher for the Kern Valley High School who helped many students to graduate who would have dropped out. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean conflict.


Born July 7, 1930 in Los Angeles, Californis. Jack H. Taylor was 63 years of age.

Richard Lee Daniel


A funeral service was bold at the United Methodist Church, Weldon for Richard Lee "Dick" Daniel of Mt. Mesa. Officiating was Reverend Donald Roulsten, Pastor.


Mr. Daniel passed away July 12 in Panorama City.


He is survived by his wife Geraldine of Mt. Mesa; Mother Laura Daniel of Canoga Park; sons Ronnie of Olathe, Kansas; Ray of Arleta, California; alster Barbara Buen of Canoga Park; brothers Donald and Gerald Both of Burbank and four grandchildren.


Mr. Daniel was a Navy Veteran of WW II who served aboard the aircraft carrier Lexington und won fifteen bat- tle stars for service in the Adlatic- Phillipine areas. Richard Dania was a meruber of the United Methodist Church, Weldon and the Elks.

Charles William "Chuck" Heltman

Mr. Helt- man passed away July 13 at the U.S. Veterana Administration Medical Center, Wadsworth, Los Angeles, California. Chuck Heltman was a resident of Lake Isabella. He Is survived by his wife Adele of Lake Isabella; sons Richard of Honolulu; Dale of Oregon; Eddie of Lake Isabella; daughters Barbara Wagner of Ft. Carson, Colorado and Joanne Dunn of Pen- nsylvania.


Chuck was retired from the U.S. Air Force whare be served as a medical corpeman, during WW II and Korea. Chuck Heitman was a Mason and a member of the KRV Moose Lodge No. 496.

Mr. Headrich passed away July 19 at the Adventist Medical Center Loma Linda, California.


He is survived by his wife of 52 years Gilda of Lake Isabella, son Harry Jr. of San Jose; daughters Helen Olinger and Joanne Langeberg both of Morco; Dorothy Secker of La Habra; Mary Wilson of Phoenix; seventeen grandchildren and seven- teen great-grandchildren. Born July 15, 1911 in Fort Scott, Kansas, Harry H. Headrich was 71 years of age. Interment at the Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California.


GERHARD AMUND JESSEN


Services were held Tuesday July 27 at the Church of Our Fathers Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Cypress for Gerhard Amund Jessen, of Lake Isabella.


Born in Whetland, Iowa in 1921, Mr. Jessen was 61 years of age. He is survived by his wife, Natellie of Lake Isabella; sons Thomas and Hertert Jessen, Dennis Horner and daughters Linda Chambers, Barbara Gale and Marylyn Ely; brother: Fritz Jessen, sisters Pauline Schubert and Agnes Sperling.


Mr. Jessen also leaves 25 grand- children and three great grand- children

James Thomas "Tom" Minklein


James T. Minklein of Wofford Heights passed away at the Kern Medical Center Bakersfield July 25.


He is survived by his mother and step-father Florence and Frank Fiorina of Wofford Heights and sister Carol Ann Baird of Lompoc.


Mr. Minklein was a retired member of the U.S. Coast Guard, and a mem- ber of KRV Eiks Lodge.


Born February 13, 1938 in Buffalo, New York, James T. Minklein was 44 years of age

Charles Richerson "Ricky" Caplinger


A funeral service was held at the Valley Mortuary Chapel Lake Isabella for Charles R. "Ricky" Caplinger of Bodfish. Officiating was Reverend Dave Snow Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lake Isabella. Ricky Caplinger passed away on July 28 in Bakersfield. He is preceeded in death by his sister Rayeanne deceased in 1980. He is survived by his parents Kenneth and Betty Caplinger of Bodfish; brother Ken with the U.S. Navy in San Diego; sister Connie Lynne Nelson of Oakview, California and grandmother Ollie Mae Freemen of Tampa, Florida. Born February 27, 1958 in Tampa, Florida, Ricky Caplinger was 24 years of age. Inter- ment at the Kern River Valley cemetery. Arrangements by Valley Mortuary.

A gravealde funeral service was held at the Kern River Valley cemetery, Wofford Heights for Garry W. Jackson of Bodfish. Officiating was Reverend Dave Snow, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lake Isabella. Garry Jackson was the vic- tim of a tragic residential fire in Bod- fish on July 26. He is survived by his parents Wallace and Virginia Jackson of Tulare; son Garry Anthony of Riverdale; brother Larry of Clovis; sister Debbie Buckner of Clovis; grandmothera Grace Knechtel of An- derson, CA. and Estelle Roberts of Cove, Arkansas. Garry Jackson was a Veteran of the U.S. Army who served In Vietnam. Born Sept. 14, 1949 in Bakersfield, Garry Wallace Jackson was 32 years of age. Arrangements by Valley Mortuary.
