C

3

NEW HAVEN, CONN.

WHOLESALE WAREHOUSES, No. 175 Broadway, and No. 2 Cortlandt Street, New York, and 147 and 149 Hanover Street, Boston.

The extent of the business of this establishment may be inferred from a few lines extracted from a recent editorial correspondence of the New York Jour- nal of Commerce, from New Haven. Speaking of the different Manufac- tories of the place, the writer observes :- One of the most conspicuous of these is Jerome's immense Clock Factory, in which upwards of 450 persons are employed, and more than 600 Clocks are daily manufactured. Mr. Jerome's works consist of twelve buildings, in which all the processes neces- sary for the commencement and completion of a Clock, (over 200,) are carried on; and each one is facilitated by the use of skilfully devised ma- chinery. Last year Mr. Jerome made not less than 150,000 Clocks, and the number manufactured this year is expected to reach 200,000, valued at $500,000. This is a number greater probably than the joint production of all other similar establishments in the United States; and, notwithstanding the enormous supply during the present year, it has been unequal to the demand.

KET Dealers in Clocks will find it to their advantage to purchase of this house, whose facilities for manufacturing are such as to defy competition.

PERUVIAN FEBRIFUGE.

For the prevention and cure of Fever and Ague, Intermittent and Remittent Fe- vers, Liver Complaints, Jaundice, Dumb Ague, Dyspepsia. Nervous Headache, En- largement of the Spleen, and all the different forms of Bilious Diseases.

This preparation is intended especially as a remedy for the prevention and cure of Fever aud Ague, but it is equally adapted to other forms of disease, such as bil- ious, intermittent and remittent fevers, dumb ague, &c. It is the result of practical observation and experience for a number of years, in the treatment and cure of Fever and Ague, and such has been the uniform success in its use, that no case is known where this valuable remedy has failed to cure when timely administered. Its com- bination is entirely new, being widely different in its therapeutic effects and opera- tion on the system, from other preparations designed to remove the disease. A sin- gle teaspoonful will, if timely administered, preveut an attack of Chills and Fevere, and while operating so effectually as a palliative, its permanency is equally reliable. I'RICE one dollar and fifty cents per bottle.

Prepared and sold, wholesale and retail, by A. B. & D. SANDS, Druggists and Chemists, New York. Sold also by druggists generally throughout the United States.

MR. S. C. HERRING-Sir : The Safe bought of you about two years since, was in our office at the destruction of the " EMPIRE IRON WORKS," on the morning of the 17th inst., and we are happy to say, that our books, paper, and money, in bank bills, were preserved in the safe, to our entire satisfaction. The safe was exposed to an intense heat for about twenty-seven hours; the castors, brass plates, &c., melted off, and yet a valuable Gold Watch was taken out perfect, and in good time-keeping order.

We shall not be without another of your Safes, and intend to call and select one early in the morning.
