MOSS, Istrian Tooth delasy.
In introducing this preparation to the public, the pro- prietor would wish simply to state its qualities and refer to the certificate below, from the well known and respectable Dentists, as testimony of its excellence.
The Istrian Wash is not the result of a happy discovery, but of many and tedious experiments which have been successful in producing a preparation calculated to answer every purpose that would be desired. It cleans and pol- ishes the Teeth, makes the Gums firm and healthy, and communicates a pleasant taste and agreeable odor to the mouth and breath; at the same time it is incapable of pro- ducing any hurtful effect on the Teeth or Gums.
Give it a trial; it will speak more than volumes of praise.
J. MOSS, CHEMIST, Merchants' Hotel, St. Louis, Mo.
We, the undersigned, certify that we have examined and used the "Istrian Tooth Wash," prepared by J. Moss, and consider it superior to any prepara- tion, for a similar purpose, that we have yet seen ; its effects in cleansing the. Teeth and in giving the Gums a fine and healthy appearance are unequalled. We are satisfied, too, from a knowledge of the articles of which it is com- posed, that its use would not result in any injury to the Teeth, an effect pro- duced by many of the popular preparations now used.

SELPHO'S FIRST PREMIUM ANGLESEY LEG, Introduced into the country and made solely by
WM. SELPHO, . . . No. 24 Spring Street, New York.
This description of Artificial Leg derives its name from the celebrated Marquis or Anglesey, who lost his leg in the battle of Waterloo, by whom it had been adopted and worn ever since its first invention by the late ingenious Mr. Potts, of London, to whom the present artist was 11 years a pupil and assistant.
" I have seen the artificial Leg of Mr. Selpho ; its construction appears excellent and well calculated to answer all the objects desired. But the best of all is the proof of those who wear them; this is positive and undeniable. Some of my friends whom I have mutilated inform me they are superior to all others.
" VALENTINE MOTT, Prof. of Surgery, University of N. Y."
Also, SELPHO'S ARTIFICIAL HAND-an entirely new and useful substituto for a lost hand, so arranged that the wearer can open and shut the hand by means of the remaining stump. W. S. will give further information by application or by letter, post paid.

PENS
WARRANTED NOT TO CORRODE.
HERTS BROTHERS
Having been many years engaged in the manufacture of Metallic Pens, and during that time having devoted their unceasing attention to improving and perfecting that useful and necessary article, the result of their unceasing efforts and numerous experiments has been the construction of a pen, on a principle entirely new, combining all the advantages of the elasticity and clearness of the Quill, with six times the durability of the Steel Pen; and thus entirely obviating the only objection that has hitherto existed against the use of Steel Pens.
This pen will be found an invaluable article in Offices, as they never need wiping; also to Banks and Schools, as they will not spatter nor cut the thinnest paper, and are warranted anti-corrosive.
CAUTION .- The universal celebrity of these pens having induced cer- tain disreputable makers to foist on the public a spurious. imitation, it will please be observed that each genuine pen is stamped "HERTS BROTHERS' PATENT, 1853," and each box of Genuine Pens will contain a label with a fac-simile of the Manufacturers' name.

PHILADELPHIA MEDICAL HOUSE,
ESTABLISHED 20 YEARS AGO, BY DR. KINKELIN.
The oldest, surest, and best hand to cure all forms of Secret Diseases, Diseases of the Skin, and Solitary Hab- its of Youth, is Dr. Kinkelin,
North West corner of Third and Union Streets, between Spruce and Pine, One and a half Squares from the Exchange, Philadelphia.
TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICE.
There is a habit which boys teach each other at the academy or college-a habit indulged in when by themselves, in solitude, growing up with the boy to manhood, and which, if not abandoned in duc time, not only begets serious obstacles to matrimonial happiness, but gives rise to a series of protracted, insidious, and de- vastating affections. Few of those who indulge in this pernicious practice, are aware of the consequences until they find the nervous system shattered. The more this unhappy condition is prolonged, the more frequent, involuntary and alarming the evil, aud if not arrested speedily, the WILL soon loses all control and becomes a merc slave of depraved passions -- the mental and intellectual in man are soon over- shadowed by the corrupt and animal. The unhappy victim shuns society, avoids the very face of man, and still more of woman-becomes weak, pale, emaciated- with failing sight, hearing, memory, mind-and with an undefined dread of coming calamity, and an aversion to all the business of life, he soon sinks into a condition of listlessness, indifference, and lethargy, from which no common skill can arouse him.
1
Let him brace his nerves, and rise with the last efforts of masculine fortitude to combat the cvil. To all such it must be obvious that the very first course to be adopted is a reinvigoration of the organic system so particularly and fearfully affect- ed, and this Dr. Kinkelin can with certainty promise to all who apply for such a renovation of strength, manhood, and a contented mind.
Let not the sufferer pass by this suggestion unheeded, for in how many cases may it not be regarded as a positive rescue from deatlı !
Too many think they may hug the secret to their own hearts, and cure themselves. Alas ! how often is this a fatal delusion, and how many a promising youth, who might have been an ornament to society, has faded from the earth !
YOUNG MEN,
Let no false modesty deter you from making your case known to one who, from edu- cation and respectability, can alone befriend you. He who places himself under Dr. KINKELIN'S treatment, nay religiously confide in his honor as a gentleman, and in whose bosdm will be forever locked the secret of the patient.
COUNTRY INVALIDS,
Finding it inconvenient to make personal application, can, by stating their case explic- itly, together with all their symptoms, (per letter, post paiu,) have forwarded to them a chest containing Dr. K's mediciues, appropriated accordingly, and be cured at home.
Strictures of the urethra, weakness and constitutional debility, promptly cured, and full vigor restored. All letters post paid.
NE" A remittance of 25 cents in a letter, post paid, addressed to Dr. Kin- kelin, Philadelphia, P A. will secure his Book on the Secret Infirmities of Youth. .

A new instrument, destined to supersede all other styles of Reed instruments now in use.
Though patented several years ago, the patentees have been constantly engaged in perfecting and improving it, being determined to leave no possibility of any future invention superseding it. They now pronounce it a perfect Instrument, and as such it is placed before the public. One of the principal advantages claimed for the Instrument is, the manner of blowing; which, after a little practice, to over- come the old Melodeon method, (with those who have used Melodeons.) will be found not only less fatiguing, but also capable of producing effects impossible to attain on any other Instrument.
The tone can be varied from the LIGHTEST WHISPER OF THE AEOLIAN HARP, to the full power of au Organ, and this without extra exertion on the part of the performer.
When played light, the tone is similar to the soft, sweet tones of the Flute; but when used in full power. resembles the beautiful combination of Reed and Pipe stops so much admired in the large Organ. No other instrument, except the Organ, can produce this effect; and there is none which can give ex- pression to the feelings of the performer as accurately. and with so little effort, as the MELO-PEAN. So susceptible is it, that even the tremulous tone, so bewitching in BOARDMAN & GRAY'S CELEBRATED DOLCE CAMPANA ATTACHMENT, can be produced with perfect ease.
These Instruments are all made in Piano style, with rich Rosewood Cases, and at the following prices :

The Great Problem Solved !!
C. H. RING, Proprietor,
DE MORSE'S INVICORATING
.
CERING
CORDIAL
It is the policy of self-sufficient pretension to deny and condemn every great discovery or invention that conflicts with the traditional theories of " Old Fogyism," or any branch of science. Even with ten thou- sand unimpeachable proofs of the permanent cures of nervous diseases effected by Morse's Invigorating Elixir staring them in the face, professional bigots may be found who still contend that there is no ex- hilarant, no stimulant in nature, the curative action of which is not weakened by repetition, or naturalized by subsequent prostrations. But as the would-be philosophers who predicted the failure of ocean steam navigation and the electric telegraph have been shamed and silenced by the rushing keels of our steam leviathans, and by lightning stenography, so is this
-
PEERLESS INVIGORANT
Destined to shame and silence those who deny its virtues, simply because it has opened a new era in the annals of medicine, and scattered into thin air the dogmas of a stolid school, who cling to the obsolete. and would fain have the world suppose that nothing new can be true, and that progress is only another name for dangerous innovation. Let the host of the cured, who have been raised from weakness to strength, from the depths of despondency to the full enjoyment of mental and bodily health, by means of this Great Specific, answer to unbelievers. Clouds of witnesses, and a chain of testimony, without a thread or a flaw, attest its efficacy, and demonstration gives the lie to doubt. The evidences come from all sections of the Union; it is volunteered by multitudes of both sexes ; it refers to every variety of ner- vous diseases, and to all 'complaints originating in the digestive organs; in other words, to more than half the maladies incident to the human race.
The dyspeptic patient, whose stomach has lost the power of duly converting food into a life-sustaining element, is relieved by a single course of this extraordinary tonic. The gastric fluid re-acquires its sol- vent powers, and the crude nutriment, which was a load and burden to the sufferer, while his digestive organization was paraly zed and unstrung, becomes, under the wholesome revolution created in the system, the basis of strength, activity, and healthi. The nervous sufferer whether tormented by the aeute physi- cal agony of neuralgia, tic-doloreux, or ordinary headache, afflicted with vague terrors, weakened hy periodical fits, threatened witli paralysis, borne down and dispirited by that terrible lassitude which pro- ceeds from a lack of nervous energy, or experiencing any other pain or disability arising from the un. natural coudition of the wonderful machinery which connects every member with the source of sensa- tion, motion, and thoughit-derives immediate benefit from the use of this cordial, which at once calms, invigorates, and regulates the shattered nervous organization.
