General Items.
The government of the School is based upon the idea that manhood is more than scholarship, and that self-respect and self-control on the part of the stu- dent are important factors in the formation of character. Greater stress is laid upon thoroughness of instruction and accuracy of knowledge, than upon rapidity of advancement.
fn Arithmetic, Grannar, Geography. Algebra and Latin, there are from three to five classes in each, so that students can enter school at any time and be classed according to their advancement.
For many years the health of students has been unifornily good. There i- probably no healthier locality in the State.
The Friends and the Methodists cach hold religious services on the Sabbath. and each maintain a Sabbath-school. The Young Men's Christian Association holds a meeting for worship one evening each week.
Students are required to keep study hours during the evening.
There are no beer, liquor or bittiard saloons in the village.
The High School building has recently been enlarged, and minch better ae- commodations are furnished than formerly.
No student whow influence i- known to have a corrupting tendency will be retained in the school.
Diploma.
Students, whose conduct is exemplary, and who can complete the course of study, wint be furnished with a Diploma signed by the Instructors and the President of the Board of Trustees.
