Manufacturing is represen- ted by two saw mills, two flour mills, three planing mills and one foundry. The sur- rounding country is not surpassed by any in Indiana for productiveness. SAINT PAUL. Contains a popu- lation of 980 inhabitants, and is pleasantly situated on the C. I. St. L. & C. R. R., in Decatur county, on county line between Shelby and Decatur counties, II miles northwest of Greensburg, and 10 southeast of Shelbyville. This village is noted for its excellent quality of building and limestone, having three large quarries, which are ex- tensively worked, and that, with four flour mills, constitute the principal manufactur- ing industries. It supports three churches -- Methodist, Christian and Catholic-a gra- ded school of six departments, two hotels and a weekly newspaper. Stone, grain and live stock are the chief exports.
