The court house, erected in 1879, is one of the handsomest in the state.

Its educational and religious facilities are excellent, having I high, I graded and 2 private schools, and churches of nearly all denominations. The press is represented by the Wabash Weekly Courier (Demo- cratic), and the Plain Dealer ( Republican ). Last named was established in 1859, has a large circulation, and is ably edited by Theron P. Keator, There are three banks, one national and two private, and four * hotels, among which the Sherman House, opposite the C. W. & M. depot, will be found very comfortable, and with a good table. Wabash is essentially a manufactur- ing point, and has steadily advanced in the number and magnitude of its industries, chief among which may be enumerated four flour mills, two foundries and machine shops, furniture manufactory, spoke and hub factory, woolen mill, flax mill, stave and heading manufactory, lime kiln, brick yard, school furniture manufactory, two saw mills, planing mill, and linseed oil mill. Express, Pacific and United States. Telegraphı, Western Union and American Union. Daily stage route from Somerset, fare 50c., and the usual mail facilities. Daniel Sayre, postmaster.

delightfully located in a fertile agricultural district, and surrounded by three lakes, known as Pike, Centre and Eagle lakes, which give it the very appropriate name of " Lake City." These lakes are amply pro- vided with boats for fishing, rowing and yachting purposes, and are stocked with fish, thus making Warsaw a delightful summer resort. It has excellent county buildings, substantial business blocks, wide streets beautifully lined with shade trees and lighted by gas, and supports two banks, three weekly newspapers-Northern Indi- anian (Republican), National Union (Demo- cratic) and the Republican -- and three hotels, of which the Wright House stands at the head, and is in every way first- class. There are in the place five churches-Methodist, Baptist, Presbyte- rian, Catholic and Christian-graded schools, and a public library containing 500 volumes. Its manufactured articles are numerous and extensive, and include brick, lumber, sash, doors and blinds, cooperage, furniture, flour, handles, plows, wagons, wood stock and cast-iron machinery. The American and Adams Express and Western Union Telegraph companies have offices here. John N. Runyan, postmaster.
