TOWN CLERK'S REPORT


To the Citizens of the Town of Douglas:


Following is the Annual Town Clerk's Report.


VOTES PASSED BY THE TOWN SINCE THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING


Special Town Meeting Tuesday, April 29, 1958 at 7.00 P.M.


ARTICLE 1. The Town voted to raise and appropriate the ad- ditional sum of Two Thousand and Fifty ($2,050.00) dollars for the Douglas Memorial High School Building Fund for the purpose of constructing an asphalt driveway and apurtenances from Depot Street to the Cafeteria entrance, to construct an asphalt water run off around the Gymnasium and to reseed the lawn surrounding the main buildings.

Special Town Meeting Wednesday, December 17, 1958 at 7.30 P.M.


ARTICLE 1. The Town voted to appropriate the additional sum of Fifteen Hundred dollars ($1,500.00) from Surplus Funds in the hands of the Treasurer for General Welfare.


ARTICLE 2. The Town voted to appropriate the additional sum of Eighteen Hundred dollars ($1,800.00) from surplus funds in the hands of the Treasurer for Veteran's Benefits.


ARTICLE 3. The Town voted to appropriate the additional sum of Three Hundred and Fifty dollars ($350.48) and Forty-eight cents from surplus funds in the hands of the Treasurer for Blanket In- surance.


ARTICLE 4. The Town voted to appropriate the additional sum of Nineteen Hundred dollars ($1,900.00) from surplus funds in the hands of the Treasurer for Snow Roads.


ARTICLE 5. The Town voted to transfer the sum of Nine Thousand Two Hundred dollars ($9,200.00) from the Machinery Rentals Fund to the Machinery Account.


ARTICLE 6. The Town voted to transfer the sum of One Hun- dred and Sixty-one dollars and Ninety-three cents ($161.93) from the Highway Compensation Insurance Fund to the Special Highway Insurance Account.

ARTICLE 7. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Fif- teen Dollars and Sixty cents ($15.60) for Industrial Schools, said sum being a balance due to the City of Worcester for 1957.


ARTICLE 8. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Eighty-eight dollars ($88.00) from surplus funds in the hands of the Treasurer for a 1957 unpaid School Bill.


ARTICLE 9. The Town voted to transfer the sum of One Hun- dred Thirty-three dollars and Seventy-four cents ($133.74) from the School Fire Reimbursement Fund to the School Account.


ARTICLE 10. The Town voted to accept an additional sum of Thirty dollars ($30.00) from the Hayward-Schuster Woolen Mills, Inc., making a total sum of Two Thousand dollars ($2,000.00) that has been accepted in 1958 from said Company to cover the expenses of installing the interior finish and panellings, furniture and fix- tures to the School Library.


ARTICLE 11. The Town voted to transfer any funds accepted under Article 10 above from the Hayward-Schuster Woolen Mills, Inc., to the addition to the Douglas Memorial High School Fund.


ARTICLE 12. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Four Hundred and Fifteen dollars ($415.00) from surplus funds in the hands of the Treasurer for the Water Department.
