TOWN CLERK'S REPORT
To the Citizens of the Town of Douglas:
Following is the Annual Town Clerk's Report.
VOTES PASSED BY THE TOWN SINCE THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
Special Town Meeting Tuesday, September 6, 1960 at 7:30 P.M.
ARTICLE 1. The Town voted to accept a deed from the Hay- ward-Schuster Woolen Mills, Inc., to the Town of Douglas, dated August 12, 1960, purporting to convey about 495 square feet of land on Cottage Street adjoining the Town of Douglas Old Town Hall and Fire House Lots, said additional land being necessary for the construction of the Fire Station addition.
ARTICLE 2. The Town voted to purchase a certain tract of land situated on the Southerly bank of the Mumford River on Gilboa Street below the Gilboa Dam, so-called, said tract being bounded and described as in a deed of John M. Murphy to Walter T. Murphy, dated August 17, 1952 and recorded with the Worcester District Registry of Deeds, Book 3885, Page 314; and voted to appropriate the sum of three hundred ($300.00) dollars for the purchase of the same and voted an additional seventy-five ($75.00) dollars for ex- penses of recording and a certificate of title, said sums to be taken from free cash in the hands of the Treasurer.
ARTICLE 3. The Town voted to construct a bituminous side- walk on School Court and voted to appropriate the sum of four hundred ($400.00) dollars, said sum to be taken from free cash in the hands of the Treasurer.
ARTICLE 4. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Sev- enty-five ($75.00) and No/100 dollars from free cash in the hands of the Treasurer to supplement the sum of money raised and ap- propriated at the Annual Town Meeting for the purchase of a new truck for the Water Department, said sum to be taken from free cash in the hands of the Treasurer.
ARTICLE 5. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Two hundred fifty-four and 84/100 ($254.84) to pay outstanding 1959 Industrial Schools Account bills, said sum to be taken from free cash in the hands of the Treasurer.
ARTICLE 6. The Town voted to authorize the School Com- mittee to establish and maintain State-aided vocational education

in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 74, of the General Laws, and Acts amendatory thereto.
ARTICLE 7. The Town voted to accept the sum of Five Hun- dred and Twenty ($520.00) dollars from John J. Kurash et Ux for the purpose of paying for the extension of a Water Main on White Avenue with mutual understanding and public acknowledgment by John J. Kurash et Ux that he would reimburse the Town of Douglas for any additional amounts expended in excess of the Five Hundred Twenty ($520.00) dollars for said extension; and the Town further voted to accept any such additional amounts given to the Town as reimbursement for said extension costs in excess of said Five Hun- dred and Twenty ($520.00) dollars.
ARTICLE 8. The town voted to extend the Water Main on White Avenue, and to meet said appropriation necessary for the con- struction of the same, the Town voted to transfer the sum of Five Hundred and Twenty ($520.00) dollars accepted under Article 7 above for said White Avenue Water Main Extension; and the Town further voted to transfer any additional reimbursements received for said construction from John J. Kurash et Ux to said construc- tion account; and the Town further voted that should said con- struction costs not equal the Five Hundred Twenty ($520.00) dollars the difference is to be reimbursed to said John J. Kurash et Ux.

ARTICLE 1. The Town voted to transfer the sum of Seven Thousand Eight Hundred ($7.800.00) and No./100 dollars from the Machinery Rentals Fund to the Machinery Account.
Article 2. The Town voted to transfer the sum of Three Thou- sand ($3,000.00) and No/100 Dollars from School Account to Spe- cial Repairs School Account.
Article 3. The Town voted to transfer the sum of Ninety-six Dollars and Thiry-one Cents ($96.31) from Insect Pest Control Ac- count to the Tree Department and Dutch Elm Disease Control Account.
ARTICLE 4. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of One Hundred Sixty-three Dollars and Niney-one Cents ($163.91) from Surplus Funds in the hands of the Town Treasurer to the Old Age Assistance Account.

ARTICLE 7. The Town voted to transfer the sum of One Hun- dred Ten Dollars and No/100 ($110.00) from the Town Treasurer's Expense Account to the Town Treasurer's Clerical Hire Account.
ARTICLE 8. The Town voted to transfer the sum of Two Hundred Fifty-nine Dollars and Fifty Cents ($259.50) from the Health Reimbursement Account to the Health Account.
ARTICLE 9. The Town voted to transfer the sum of Fifty-two Dollars and Sixty-five Cents ($52.65) from the Special Highways Reimbursement Account to the Special Highways Account.
ARTICLE 10. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Two Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($2,000.00) from the Surplus Funds in the hands of the Town Treasurer to the Snow Roads Account.
ARTICLE 11. The Town voted to purchase a Used Sand Spreader Unit for the sum of Seven Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($700.00), sum to be taken from Surplus Funds in the hands of the Town Treasurer.
ARTICLE 12. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of One Thousand, One Hundred Eighty-four Dollars and Fifty Cents ($1,184.50), sum to be taken from Surplus Funds in the hands of the Town Treasurer, to Special Repairs to and appurtenant to the Fire Station.
ARTICLE 13. The Town voted to transfer the sum of Seven Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($700.00) from the New Town Hall Maintenance Account to the Special New Town Hall Repairs Ac- count.
