TOWN CLERK'S REPORT


To the Citizens of the Town of Douglas:


Following is the Annual Town Clerk's Report.


VOTES PASSED BY THE TOWN SINCE THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING


Special Town Meeting Monday, October 16, 1961 at 7:30 P.M.


ARTICLE 1. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Eight Hundred dollars and No/100 cents ($800.00) from the Surplus Funds in the hands of the Town Treasurer to the Disability Assistance Ac- count.


ARTICLE 2. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Forty- five hundred dollars and No/100 cents ($4500.00) from the Surplus Funds in the hands of the Town Treasurer to the Water Department Account.


ARTICLE 3. The Town voted to appropriate the sum of Six hundred fifteen dollars and No/100 cents ($615.00) from the Surplus Funds in the hands of the Town Treasurer to the Health Department.

Special Town Meeting Friday, December 22, 1961 at 7:00 P.M.


ARTICLE 1. The Town voted to authorize the Moderator to ap- point a Regional School District Planning Committee, consisting of three members, including one member of the School Committee, to study a survey, prepared by the Massachusetts Department of Edu- cation of the Southern part of Worcester County to determine the need for a Regional Vocational School in this area and to report to the Town at a Special Town Meeting called for such purpose or at a subsequent Annual Town Meeting on whether or not they feel that the Town should join in the Regional to promote Vocational Edu- cation.

ARTICLE 3. The Town voted to appropriate from surplus funds in the hands of the Treasurer the sum of $1600 (Sixteen hundred dollars and No/100) to the Welfare Account.

ARTICLE 5. The Town voted to appropriate from surplus funds in the hands of the Treasurer the sum of $1000.00 (One thousand dollars and No/100)


ARTICLE 6. The Town voted to appropriate from surplus funds in the hands of the Treasurer the sum of 222.77 (Two hundred twenty-two dollars and seventy-seven cents) to the Police Depart- ment to pay for outstanding bills of previous years.


ARTICLE 7. The Town voted to transfer the sum of $966.52 (nine hundred sixty-six and 52/100) from the Highway Department Insurance Recovery Account to the Machinery Rentals Fund.


ARTICLE 8. The Town voted to transfer the sum of $7,900 (seven thousand nine hundred dollars and no/100) from the Ma- chinery Rentals Fund to the Machinery Account.


ARTICLE 9. The Town voted to transfer the sum of $21.28 (twenty-one dollars and 28/100) from the Highway Compensation Insurance Fund to the Special Highway Insurance Account.


ARTICLE 10. There being no other business to transact the meeting adjourned.
