In Memoriam


FREDERIC W. KINGMAN


Frederic W. Kingman served faithfully as a Member of the Contrib- utory Retirement Board of the Town of Norwood from the time of the inception of the Contributory Retirement System in 1937 until his decease on October 6, 1954.


The Town of Norwood was indeed fortunate to obtain his services which he gave willingly and without restraint.


Mr. Kingman's membership on the Contributory Retirement Board was greatly enriched by his long and wide experience in his illustrious carcer in public life.

ANNUAL TOWN MEETING


Monday, January 17, 1955, adjourned to March 24, 1955


On a warrant duly issued by the Selectmen under the date of January 4, 1955, and signed by Harry B. Butters, Walter J. Dempsey, Alonzo F. Swift, Jr., Daniel E. Callahan, Jr. and Charles L. Rich, Selectmen of Norwood, the meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Francis C. Foley. The proper service of this warrant was duly attested by .James E. Quinn. Constable of Norwood.


All the requirements of the statutes and by-laws relating to elections and town meetings were complied with. The warrant calling the meeting was read by Town Clerk and Accountant, Walter A. Blasenak. The articles con- tained in the warrant, and the action thereunder being as follows:


ARTICLE 1. To choose all necessary Town Officers: The following are to be choosen by ballot, namely: One Selectman for three years; one Town Treasurer and Collector of Taxes for one year; one Moderator for one year; one member of the Board of Health for three years; one Finance Commis- sioner for three years; one member of the Town Planning Board for five years; two members of the School Committee for three years; two Trustees of the Morrill Memorial Library for three years; one member of the Norwood Housing Authority for five years; two Constables for one year: four Town Meeting Members for District One for three years; seven Town Meeting Members for District Two for three years; two Town Meeting Members for District Two for two years; four Town Meeting Members for District Three for three years; one Town Meeting Member for District Three for two years; six Town Meeting Members for District Four for three years; two Town Meeting Members for District Four for two years; one Town Meeting Member for District Four for one year; seven Town Meeting Members for District Five for three years; six Town Meeting Members for District Six for three years; one Town Meeting Member for District Six for one year; nine Town Meeting Members for District Seven for three years; four Town Meeting Members for District Seven for two years; four Town Meeting Members for District Seven for one year; eight Town Meeting Members for District Eight for three years; two Town Meeting Members for District Eight for two years; three Town Meeting Members for District Eight for one year.
