REPORT OF THE ENGINEERS OF FIRE DEPARTMENT.


Selectmen of Randolph :


During the past year of much trial and suf- fering, to individuals and the Town from the rebellion, we have been favored, in not having suffered, as in many other years, from fires, there having been but one du- ring the year.


The expenses of the department have been small and it is believed that the Engines and apparatus are in good condition, and in working order.


AQUARIUS, NO. 1,


Capt. OTIS CROOKER, has an approbated company of 45 men.


INDEPENDENCE, NO. 2, Capt. EPHRAIM MANN, has a company of 37 men. RELIEF, NO. 4,


Capt. JOHN W. FOYE, has a company of 24 men. FIRE KING, NO. 5.


With no company, is located where there is need that a full company should take the responsibility of see- ing it kept in order, and in time of need, properly used.


There has been one fire, the barn of Jeremiah Bump, on North street. Loss not ascertained; insurance, $400.

Independence Engine has been to Braintree, and Aquarius and Relief to Abington.
