Two million fut would surely be a safe estimate of the amount of lumber within the Towns limite at present of a dimension that one would event Cut, and of this amount there is probably no single stand of ron two hundred thousand fut,
Twenty Five years ago from information given us by men who are in a position to know, an estimate of fiften million fut

of standing truber in this Town would be very conservative. Surely these figures warranted the belief by the Committee of this Town was a criterion of a general condition throughout the state that it would be well to investigate the general statistics relating to the states and nations timber resources.
The facts thus presented by the various organizations that are working for Chravation of the timber resources of this country are overwhelming and are Convincing of the need of concerted action by every municipality which have any lands available for're frustration purposes, We find that the question of the acceptance of the"Town Forst act"so-called by which the Town is permitted to acquire land for the purpose of re-frustration Ans bren acted upon favorably by over sixty towns and cities in the state and that one hundred other Cities and tours hove within the first year afprinted town forest committees, the same as ourselv to report back on to the advisability of accepting the act. We hereley! y recommend that the Town accept the "Toon Trest act" so- called as provided in General Laws, Chapter 132 Section 35, as amended by the Back of 1924, Chapter 24, and we also recommend that a standing Trun Freet Committee of three members be appointed, said Committee to serve without conformation.
