Under Article 23_ The Committee affinities at the Special Tron muting May 5 1925 to investigate the need of better fire protection in the Centre, South and West Village, particularly with reference to the need of a jumper repent as follows; In the Centre we recommend that a site be secured at once for the execution in the near future of a fire house large enough to properly accommodate the necessary fire afferratuve, the fine alar system and supplies .

We recommend the gradual extension of the fire alarm system by the addition of a number of fire alarm brows annual and also the installation of at least one auxiliary alarm box in the high schol and the new grade school for better protection of livre and property.

We recommend the immediate purchase of a new motor pumper , or triple combination ar it is called of not less than 500 gallons capacity, rother than to install a pump on the present double combination which is over four genre.

old and was not built to accommodate. a pump, To install such a punk would crat three fifths the price of a new one and when complete would be of small capacity and questionable durability. A kamper located at the Centre would offire protection to march property outside of the hydrant area but new available water ways, this applies to the South Village to a great extent. Water can be pumpece form Baptist Prud and the outlet brook. Fron Toodre Brook and Beaver Bronk there are 134 houses and 64 Barna fisiche many other buildings such as garages hen houses, ice houses, and greenhouse all within 1500 ft. of the named with ways. The above property with contents his an estimated market or insurance value of efrut 1/2 million dollars & the actual amount of the tax books is 1 /4 million dollars which of course does not include the exempt property such as furniture, hay and form implementa etc on land.

It was suggested to the Committee that a dry hydrant could be located in the square at the South Village and connected with the female therefore we Cansed a survey to be mide which showed the square. to be 11 fut higher than the surface of the food . We wish to extend own thanks to J.C. W.T. hmatan C. E. who made this survey for us without renumeration. There are many other places from which water could be pumped such as the Grand River, the frwill hydrants at the Town line ou Enham at and Carlisle It. numerous with

Cisterna and small brooke that Contain water six months in a year.

We find that the West Village can be effectively covered by the pumper at the north Village craft where the distance of the fire from Strany Pink was too for to be reached by a small pump it would then be necessary. to call for the larger one if we had it at the Centre. We suggest that a Commutter be affronted to investigate relative to the need of a fire house site in the West Village.

Wie especially recommend that property owners in sections not having an adequate water supply available for useby a jumpin take stife where presible to provide a water hall in forum near their buildings. This could well be done by groups of owners at little enfence to each.
